After those items are done, the only other remaining items on my build list is a rear arb locker, skids, and some more lights. I'm still debating on whether I want to do a front bumper or not.
I know that feeling. I have tons of stuff I want to do on Gamora. Figure out how to install a 180amp alternator, replace the centerlink (happening next weekend), paint the drawer system, build a roof rack, install heavy duty tie rod adjusters, and buy and install a lift. I hoping to install my...
There's a few modifications I'd like to do to the relay layout. I'd like to replace my 4 standalone relays with a relay box. I'm thinking this one:
That will allow me to clean up the wiring a bit, and make swapping relays a bit easier.
Haha. I'd be happy to. I've not really tested my plumbing system yet. I don't want to run water through it until it's no longer at risk of freezing.
Besides, I still owe you for all that help with the electrical system.
I just realized that I've not updated this thread in quite a while!
I built a new drawer system for the X back in October.
Drawer system skeleton, with the top and bottom being 1/2in plywood, and the vertical supports being 1x8 boards.
On the drivers side, I have a master on/off switch...
Nice to see you making some progress again on this! It's supposed to be 60 on Saturday here in the treasure valley, so maybe it'll be warm enough up there for rtv to set?
Welcome! I too am in SW Idaho, and also drive an 03 Xterra.
Post some pics of your rig. I don't know how familiar you are with the Xterra, but anything you'd ever want to know about maintenance, repairs, or modification can be found on www.xterranation.com
Welcome to Overland Bound!
My bad, for some reason I thought he did.
I'm in for stinking Water and signature rock. I'll probably have to pass on the others this year, unfortunately.
Thanks for post regarding the traction boards, George! I'm secretly hoping when I head out to the owyhees in a few weeks as planned, we run into a situation where I can use mine. We won't have a winch, but there will be two vehicles.
And hey, if dude with the frontier goes, and I go, and you...
There's plenty of aftermarket support for the second gen frontier and xterra. Is it as widespread as a tacoma or jeep? No, but there multiple options for pretty much everything, ranging in price. Lifts range from simple spacer and shackles, to SAS and long travel using titan drive train and...
I was going to stay out of this, but for some reason I just can't.
Personally, my next truck will be a late model 2nd Gen frontier. I don't care if the interior is from 2005 (but that's me).
I would narrow what you're looking at down to 3-4 different makes/models. Then go test drive a bunch...
Weight honestly isn't bad. I can pick the whole thing up without too much effort if it's unloaded. Drawer sides and vertical supports for the platform are from a 1x8, so yeah, it should be about 3/4in. Top of the platform is 1/2in plywood. With the middle support, 1/2in barely flexes even with...
Well, which one prevents potential thousands of dollars of body work? Seems like a no brainer to me. I have sliders on my X, but still don't have a fridge, if that helps.
