Both my wife and my machines are the s10s. They run great off 12v with the dc power supplies. I tested mine with the heated tube an humidifier running at home off my rockpals, and after 7 hours or so, I still had 52% battery left.
I can get 3 nights running both machines with the heated tube...
Yeah, it took me a couple of years to get used to that as well. Even my parents and sister moved out here. BTW, if I can swing it, I'm planning on hitting up a few fire towers in October, if you're interested. I'll be posting a rally point once I work out the details.
This right here is spot on. You'll honestly be surprised where it will get you in stock form.
What I did was spend some money on armor (sliders, rear bumper) to start with. I did add adjustable shackles, but I will need to upgrade to all new leafs, as the stock springs have sagged a bit...
Hey Treasure Valley Peeps! I'm thinking about doing a two night trip through the Boise National Forest in October. First night, we'd be camping up at the Hawley Mountain fire lookout, and would work our way down to the Bald Mountain Fire Lookout, and camp just down from the lookout. The whole...
Congrats man! Good looking first gen!
I've got an 03 myself, and they're a great rig for overlanding.
First thing I would recommend is ditch the mud flaps and step bars. They get hung up on things, and the step bars are thin aluminum, and are known as damage multipliers.
After that, I'd try...
You always seem to find the rockiest, roughest road you can George. Not that I'm complaining. That reminds me, I need to look into some new shocks. And leaf springs.
Yikes. Not a good sign for the goal zero. I'd contact them about a replacement. I run a rockpals 500w, and have had it on two trips so far, with zero issues. I've not used it to power a fridge yet (I use it to power my wife and I's CPAP machines), nor do I run a dual battery setup in my rig. I...
Sounds like your alternator isn't putting out quite enough amps to get the deep cycle batteries completely charged. How many amps does your alternator put out? It may be time to look into a DC to DC charger for your batteries and some solar panels.
As for my latest camping gear purchases, in...
I don't see it as being an issue if you're thinking something like the wilco hitchgate.
If you're dailying the X, having a removable tire carrier might actually be nice. If I drive mine everyday, I'd probably hate my swing out, but since I dont drive it all the time, it's not a big deal.
Unfortunately, no money for a fridge over here right now. Doing a bunch of work on the back yard. If that deal is still around when I am ready though, I'll take a look for sure!
