All the recommendations everyone else here has given you already is great advice, and you should really consider listening.
As for me, many of these people have way more experience than me (especially @M Rose)
A few years ago, I was at a similar starting point. Didn't know what gear I...
Don't sell the Jimmy! There aren't enough overland S series rugs out there. By the way, I've got a brand new fan Shroud sitting in my shed somewhere, if you ever want one. Just pay for shipping and it's yours.
Nice! I had the standard 3 button transfer case in mine. I never had an issue with it, but that was before I really got into off road stuff.
You could look into sourcing a rear end out of a zr2 s10. They came with the g80 auto locker, which works surprisingly well (I have one in my Colorado...
Nice man. I owned a 96 blazer and I loved it for the 16 years I drove that thing. It finally died with about 280k on the clock.
Out of curiosity, which drive train do you have? Is it part time 4x4, or do you have the AWD option that some of them had (that may have been limited to the bravada...
Hey George (and anybody else who has any footage of my rig). I've created a folder where, if you'd be willing to share footage with me, I'd love to have it uploaded. If you would be so kind as to upload to the following folder, I'd really appreciate it...
Yup. I've answered and gave advice on this exact question a few times. One on them was last week. Not to be rude, by try the search first. If you still can't find it, I'll link the thread for you.
A good welder could probably put it together in 4 hours or less. My buddy welded mine, and built the swing out in a day, so it probably wouldn't be more the 250 to get it welded.
So, if anyone is interested, hardcore offroad has a weld together kit for a steel rear bumper. That's the route I went, and added a swing out tire carrier for about $100 worth of materials. Something to think about. Weld together kit was 280 shipped, if I recall. Took about a week and a half to...
Yup. Depending on the model you have, if there's a DC adapter, you can easily power it with a lithium battery pack.
I've done it it using two different packs.
I got two solid nights when using the dc adapter for my airsense 10, and turning the heated hose and humidifier off with this pack...
It's one thing to go out, it's another to gather in groups for extened
Yeah, we're back in stage 2 as of last week., So I feel you. Hopefully, the vaccine will be able to get things back to normal sooner rather than later, and we can get back to meetups and hanging out with each other.
Thanks for the mention @Greg Eigsti
I have the mxt275. Great little radio. 15w is enough for about 97% of what you would need. Because all the controls are on the handset, you can hide the base unit anywhere you have room. It also uses a standard ethernet connection, making it easy to install...
I just finished building a new storage system, and rerouting all my secondary electrical yesterday.
The only thing I can think of that I want to add later would be a fridge, and I still have two unused spots on my fuse panel open (or maybe it was 3)...
100A panel, and if everything is...
I get it, it's not for everyone. I'm also trying to do this as cheaply as I can, but that's me.
As far as the tuff stuff shower thing, I've not read really anything bad about much of the tuff stuff line, so its probably pretty decent quality. Is it going to be as high quality as the alu-cab? Of...
