What should be the first mod

Here's my $. 02, do with it what you will. "Overlanding" basically consists of three basic parts, as I see it. 1. Travel 2. Accommodations 3. Self reliance Let's tackle travel first. This can be anything you want. It can consist of paved roads, gravel and dirt roads, or technical trails...

2003 Atomic Orange Nissan Xterra 4X4 Overland Build (Codename : Tigger) Picture Heavy

I still don't have skids yet. The nice thing is, with the way the X is designed, everything is tucked up between the frame rails, so I'm not overly worried about hitting anything at the moment, but I'm not doing anything too rocky at this point. Not usually, anyways.

That's the one. It's my understanding that it fits the vg33e just fine, but I've not done too much research on it yet, since I don't have the money to buy it. I need skids and new tires before I even think about a snorkel.

I'm hoping I can scrounge up enough money to get a snorkel this year. I want to buy a good one. The hard part's going to be sealing the airbox. I've not found alot of information on that one.

Oh man. I may have to look into this. Will save me from having to spend additional money on a catalytic converter down the road.

2003 Atomic Orange Nissan Xterra 4X4 Overland Build (Codename : Tigger) Picture Heavy

Thanks! I took some plans I found on xterraNation.com, and modified them to suit my needs. I wanted the slide out table, and have an extension that slides in that I can use for a sleeping platform. I need to find a good hinge and a support system so I can keep the extension flat when it's not...

2003 Atomic Orange Nissan Xterra 4X4 Overland Build (Codename : Tigger) Picture Heavy

I finished building my drawer system. I haven't painted it yet (been too cold), but I'm very happy with how it turned out. There's some things you can't see in these pictures. There's a faucet behind the passenger tail light. All my electrical is underneath a hinged door, and behind the...

    SW Idaho Overlanding

Yeah, I'm not really sure when it will change. Im supposed to move to Friday - Saturday off, but there's no indication of when that will happen. They just said sometime after new years. Just trying to be patient.

    Camp Kitchen/ Kitchen Box

For Basecamp, this would be great. It would also work really well in a trailer. I mean, it would work just fine for mobile camping as well. Like I said, I think it's a great design.

    Camp Kitchen/ Kitchen Box

I really like the design and layout of this. Nicely done. I wouldn't want to cart it in and out personally, but that's just me. If it works for you that's all that matters!

    OBDII Monitoring

Trans temp, coolant Temp, oil temp are big ones if you have pids to read them. This is also vehicle dependent. Some vehicles have these sensors, but some don't. For example, my 04 colorado has the ability to give me the transmission temp, plus a whole bunch of other sensors (trans, oil...

    Show me your drawer systems!

Thanks! When I was using the truck, I just used the tailgate. It made a great prep table and cooking surface. I lost that when moving to the Xterra. I still need to coat the table in polyurethane, and obviously paint the plywood, but I'm quite happy with how it's turned out so far. I might even...

    Show me your drawer systems!

In all seriousness though, I recently build a new drawer system for the back of my x. I still have to paint it (I don't have a garage, and it's too cold right now for paint). I still need to get my gear in it, but here's the finished product. All the electrical for my auxiliary electronics...

    Fire starters

Used dryer lint, wax, and a egg crate when I was in scouts. Started a fire every time. I recently learned about using hand sanitizer (which almost all of us have these days) as well. Doritos work surprisingly well too. The only time I really need a Firestarter is when I'm trying to light wet...

    Camp Kitchen Must Haves

I currently have a large 3 burner stove. I might get tid of it, and go back to a two burner that can fit in my drawer. My other primary stove is a single burner gas one dual fuel. I bought it a little over a year ago, and its awesome. I have a Stanley base camp cook set, which I love. The...
