I'm happy to say that mine arrived yesterday, and has been running off ac power since.
Took 15 minutes to cool from 77 degrees to 32 with the compressor on max mode. It's also very quiet.
Gonna do a test with my 540Wh battery this weekend to see how it does, but so far, I'm quite pleased...
Gotcha. I'm undecided as to whether I'm going full steel bumper, or just having a custom winch plate built.
As far as the swing out goes... My design is similar to yours. Big spindle pin on a protrusion from the bumper. That spindle and the bearings can handle a decent amount of weight, but I...
Looking good man! Curious how you're liking the coastal front bumper? Did you need to upgrade the torsion bars for it?
Im in the process of redesigning my swingout to move the tire closer to the body, and accommodate dual jerries. Based on my measurements, I think itlll fit.
Yup. Thanks for posting this. I just bought a 42qt (due to space, and I don't need anything bigger than that) for $275 shipped to my door. Costco doesn't generally sell junk. If they had a lot of these come back, they'd stop selling them.
No. I actually used exhaust clamps to mount mine.
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to build a basket out of superstrut. Right now they're literally just two bars, and I would like to do something a little more versatile.
Test drove the X the other day, after replacing the centerlink. SO MUCH BETTER. Taking it on a pretty long run tomorrow. We'll see how she does. I'm expecting LOTS of mud, and very likely NOT reaching our destination. Will make for an interesting video.
So my steering has been pretty wobbly for about a month or so. A common issue with these rigs is the Centerlink going bad. I just finished replacing mine, but haven't had a chance to test drive it yet.
Also, my truck is fixed, so I can start driving that again.
LOL. Just because you have 37s, twin lockers, sway bar disconnects, and a "trail rated" badge doesn't mean you're gonna go and do the Rubicon. Just saying!
True! Although, to be fair, there's really only a few options for lifting the first gens. Lol.
I've been on some pretty gnarly trails just at stock height, and not had a problem yet. And that's with no lift, and no skid plates. The plan is to have both of those on by the end of the year.
I have two different ones. An Akaso V50x and an Apeman A87. Both are quite good.
That being said, you can get used gopro hero 4 blacks on ebay for around the same price.
I personally plan on getting two more Akasos, since I'm quite happy with how they work, and the feature set.
The v50x does...
This is my plan as well. I've got the adjustable shackles already, and they're sitting about half way atm, since I'm yet to lift the front. I plan on doing front ucas later this year and throwing 5100s on all four corners. We'll drive it that way for a while, and see how it does.
Unfortunately, I found out we're launching a big new product April 6th at work, so I don't think it's going to work out this time. I'll have to tag along on one of the summer trips instead.
I didn't end up doing this, as the weekend it was planned, my mom ended up in the hospital with heart problems. I never got around to rescheduling it. I think I'll try and shoot for late June (around my birthday) to do this.
Keep in mind there will be two small children in tow, so if that's...
