me and my daughter climbed up Luarel Lake in Inyo National Forrest July 5th but had to turn around and camped at the river since the rode after the switch back was still snowed in...our B.O.B. had no issue climbing the trail and no problem going over rocks but i would caution high clearance is a must and/or better skill...shout out to @Coachella Valley Overland for inviting us over for the 4th of July fireworks and camping at Crowley Lake. We had a blast and my daughter enjoyed it very much...thank you!
You’re welcome we had fun having you hangout with us !

The 4th was a bust for me. Cruiser had an odd noise I needed to hunt down. Turns out, if you swap right and left upper shock mounts, it makes a bad squeak sound (sigh). Ended up fixing house stuff and getting garage ready for next project. I so need to sell, give away or trash so much old gear.

A side trail off of Coyote Flat (GPS N37 13.04 W118 29.08), takes you toward Funnel Lake and Rocky Bottom Lake. The main trail follows the flat passing below Sugarloaf Peak. This part of Coyote Flat is Sanger Meadow. The meadow was named after a family who raised horses in this area ...

Last time up there we saw a Bald Eagle. Super cool area, travel trails not recommend. Short hike for nice size Brook trout.

Can we get a count of who all is going!

I'm covering other people's vacations this month. Friday off would be impossible. I had tried but, everyone wanted July off for some reason. I have never been there and really want to go.

Hey guys and gals, I will not be able to go this week. Need to work on the truck and stop spending so much. My 3 week trip north cost a lot, so, I need to conserve some cash.
Hope to go next month up to Hemet Lake. Have a good weekend.

Adventure Defined...Coyote Flats Does Not Disappoint!

For those who were unable to make it...you were missed, and you missed a good one. We did, however, meet a few other Overland Bound Members on the trail from the area.

Coyote Flats had it all. With over 2,200 miles of designated trail roads, it was spectacular. The scenery was just amazing. It had a wonderful array of colorful California flowers, streams, ponds, lakes, water crossings, and wildlife.

With so much to see and so little time, we will surely make this trip again.

Enjoy the photos.
