Got a few things done today so far. First was 5 qts of Mobil One and a qt of Mystery Oil at 186,000 miles, then picked up some sheet metal screws to relocate cb radio and went over to lkq to find a zj washer fluid bottle and scored one with cap, sensors and bolts for $12! I might tackle this today or wait till another day.

Thanks for the idea. I suppose I could do an AGM battery. My last wrangler had one and it worked well with the winch and extra lights. I enjoy wheeling (rocks, mud, and sand here in NC) so I’m trying to make one rig do it all. Currently I keep a bunch of tools and recovery gear in the tire well now. That would be relocated to the drawer system and I could then do a tank tuck. How did you do your awning?

I basically have my tarp tied to the roof rail with these reusable gear ties. I then use some Cabela's telescoping poles and 550 cord staked. I plan on making it more of a rigid setup so I don't always have to anchor it. Conduit and more telescoping poles and assorted hardware. I just want to be able to pack it down easily but not have a ton of stuff on the outside to be damaged by UV rays, wind, and anything else since this is a DD. Check out my build thread linked in my sig.

I’ve been working on the zj washer mod today before getting called in to work so I’m a little over halfway done. I rerouted the purge valve but haven’t bolted it down yet. I then undid the connections and bolts to the washer reservoir. Then some how got it out. I took the pumps out of the zj bottle and the wj bottle. The wj ones fit right into the zj bottle. Not sure about the low fluid sensor. Might cut a hole and throw it in. Here’s a couple pictures for the time being.

Finished it up and got it all mounted up today even with it raining on and off. It’s a super tight fit with the stock air box and the sensor for low coolant on there but I made it work. Here’s some pictures. Let me know if you have any questions.

Awesome right up, i need to move the purge valve over and youve put it in the perfect place. Also, i had death wobble for about a week, it was a loose track bar at the end that attaches to the unibody.

Yep that’ll cause it. Lol I still get it on certain rr crossings and a few bad potholes. It just shimmy’s now and won’t go into a full on dw anymore

Also, I can’t take credit for the purge valve idea. Someone else on either this forum or Jeep forum had done it that way and it seemed a better option and took 2 seconds to do

I saw you credited the ksmith, that mans jeep has inspired alot of the things ive done. His work is so clean, hands down my favorite wj. Its too bad he sold it, im still trying to get around to on board air & dual batteries

Yeah his build is sick. Lucky person who bought it. I wish they would have gotten on here or Jeep forum just so we can keep tabs on it. It wasn’t his I got this idea from though. It was on JF. I haven’t looked through his build in awhile but I have a good idea of what I want/need. Tire carrier is a mist right now, then air (on board or portable) I’m not sure which yet. I won’t do a co2 because nobody around us fills them

They are on off-road passport. That’s where his original build thread is. He currently drives a jkur that is getting the same love his wj got. The guy with the wj had some good plans for it but I didn’t check out the thread

Just purchased interior LED lights from superbrightleds.com for the cargo area and the two map lights. Should be nice and bright when they get here.

What's up with the ZJ washer swap? I wasn't aware of it until today but I'm haven't figured out what the benefit of doing that mod is yet.

Once you get bigger tires and start flexing it off-road, you risk tearing the pumps out of the original washer with the front left tire. The washer is directly in front of the tire and by moving it, it creates more room for the tire

Love it ! Had a 2000 a few years back, wish I would have kept it and completely gut it to do something similar!

Ah, ok. Thanks for the explanation. :)

Popped the hood because of a weird air noise and found a vacuum hose had cracked and was letting a lot of air escape. Grabbed some hose and it’s all good now. Last night I put the LED lights in the interior. I need to order the rear door ones and some for my fiancé’s car. They are awesome. Extremely bright.
