    Need help choosing a winch.

The addicted offroad stuff is great. I've had their bumper on my 92 for at least 9 years paired with a smittybilt winch. Both bulletproof so far. Ya just find someone to weld the supports in, that's what I did.

    Radios and comms

I always have a CB installed. Like you I've always used them. Also local 4x4 clubs use them, and log trucks too so if I'm in the back woods I can often get ahold of someone if needed. And they are plenty for group run comms. No need to chit chat on a group run or rolling the interstate, sending...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

I was on week one of a six week stay, full time, in the 4Runner. I chose to head home just in case. I'll still be doing overnighters more close to home though.

Anyone Canceling an adventure (namely in CA)?

Me? I'm going kayaking tomorrow. The rangers said that getting out hiking, walking, kayaking, etc is a great way to not be too close to people and still get fresh air and exercise. I don't have any big trips planned but I'll be going on a few overnighters to get out of dodge and the house.

Not as vintage or as epically awesome as some of the rides you guys have, but still, 28 years old and 315000 miles and still going strong. And it's my baby, Ole Bessie!

I use Backcountry Navigator XE instead of Gaia. I'm just a rebel like that. They are similar. I just like how Backcountry works.

    Fake Overlanding?

Overlanding isn't dependent on 4 wheeling, at all. Vehicles. You can overland by horse, motorcycle, 4x4, 4x2, quad, on foot, whatever gets you out there. Overlanding by definition is adventure travel, and I would add in getting off the beaten path, being self sufficient, and often exploring...

I've hired a mechanic maybe 2 or 3 times in the last 20 years I would guess. I do all of my own repairs and maintenance.
