Little change in the lift on the patriot, we are going to go with the 1.5" daystar instead of the RC lift. A little lower, better on the axles, etc. 2" is pushing it on the little pat.
I had a 2005 suburban z71. I loved the size of the rig. By the time I had it, it had many issues from sitting in the driveway for years and not being moved. I spent thousands fixing it up to the point where it was good and reliable, but the rusties started taking over. My wife and I are...
Yes, it's going in soon for some suspension work. Daystar 1.5" lift, new monroe struts, rear dog bones and a few other odds and ends. It will also get an alignment then as well. Just waiting for the winter tire change over to do it.
Found out what it is. The tires. They are worn very choppy on the inside of the wheel. New tires for next year, plus some more overlanding additions going on it over this winter.
Ours is 2015 altitude and you are correct. It’s an extremely reliable rig. I’m thinking it’s a wheel bearing just starting to go. Also. The plug thing is right too. 40k. Replace them and enjoy a totally different rig again. Ours has 98k Kms on it.
We have been noticing an odd noise when your driving lately. It's hard to describe but it is an intermitant whrrring noise. that comes and goes. Sometimes with brakes. not a rumble but ------ ------- ----- ------ ------ like that pattern. I am thinking either wheel bearing or cv joint...
It's not really. I have owned sony, fuji and olympus bodies that all had IBIS and they were no more expensive than the canikon competition. I am a fuji fan and user. You can tell right away a photo taken with fuji equipment.
The thing I don't like about both canon and nikon is that the Image stabilization is in the lens of the camera not the body. So, IS does not work with every lens. Most times, lens based IS is an added expense then. Obviously, they know this and fleece their customers accordingly.
my stock fenders hold beer just fine, plus those nice places in the rear bumper is the best place.
I just think this looks bro dozer'ish!

Oh,
and this lives with my X-S1. Same sensor and processing engine, however in a more compact "steetable" size.

If you can find one. Seriously. It's built like a tank. all magnesium body feels like a very substantal camera in your hand. The photographs from it are amazing too.
I just recently found this area of the forum. I must have missed it before. my rig consists of a fujifilm x-s1, x-10, iphone 8 and a lightweight lowepro backpack. I am now switching to a new backpack so I can take a carbon fiber tripod/monopod combo with me. I am also looking for a video...
I use and recommend fujifilm. I am currently using a older x-s1 for most duties, but take the x10 on city jaunts. No need for big telephoto lenses there. it produces amazing photos. You can ALWAYS tell photographs. they "POP".
I am shooting using a fuji x-s1 and x-10 camera. Both have no extra lenses etc, so all I need to pack are my two cameras, flash heads and some charging memory items. I get amazing photos from this setup and not alot of weight. I am going to be using my iphone for video duties so the rig for...
Awesome. Thanks for the information. I am looking at doing something similar. Coffee table books, Prints etc. I am wanting to become a full time photographer/writer. I have the creative bug in me for a while now, I am starting on our family blog about travelling with a person who has...
To the OP. Icon makes a setup for your truck. GET IT. It's more expensive, but it will provide you with the ride you want off road. Lift is not really that important for overlanding. An inch or two is all you need to fit some bigger tires. Icon's suspension systems are great for the trucks.
