    Interior Accessories

@Quicksilver A rack like that is my next interior project for the rear. I've got to get some more 1" aluminum tube and get over to a buddy's house whose gonna help me bend it up and then make some plates that fit the contour of the sides. Not sure when I'll have time to get down to his place...

Yep. The outer ring is taught but it's designed as a basket so the center hangs down to create a bowl. I'm sure you could ask for yours to have less slack so it would pull up higher, everything is made in house. Like I said though, I've gotten used to it and for the time being, wouldn't take it...

    I

https://raingler.com/collections/toyota-truck-heavy-duty-cargo-netting They make great stuff. I have the ceiling and barrier nets for my Xterra. Check out their gear!

What portable air are you using in your rig?

Ok, so I'm ready to order a Viair compressor and I'm torn between the 400P-A and the 450P-A. The higher flow of the 400 I think will cancel out the duty cycle, especially if I add a tank in the future. Thoughts? Xterra on 32s with a possible single axle trailer in the future.

I picked up a Raingler barrier and snapped a picture of my ceiling net when I got it installed. Here you can see how it hangs down @Steve .

Hey guys, there's an Overlander Flea Market happening at Blue Ridge Overland Gear in Bedford, Va on November 25th. I'm going to go check it out, anyone want to meet-up and grab a beer at the locally brewery? They offer camping at their farm too, I can check on getting us some spots in anyone is...

James River State Park RTT Rally

I was at a RTT Rally this weekend near Gladstone, Va. I met a few OB members there but I wanted to just start a thread on here so we could share stories and pictures from the weekend. Hope everyone had a safe trip home! Special thanks to Ranger @John Fury and @Adam Schalow for organizing...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Just ordered a set of sliders for the Xterra. I got the 10* White Knuckle in DOM. No more worrying about the rockers or bending up my step tubes.

    Coleman lantern rebuild?

It probably has a leather pump cup, pull it and soak it in 10w30 for a few hours then invert it and let it soak some more. I've not had to replace a leather cup yet on the old lanterns and stoves I've been playing with. It sounds like your check valve in the pump well is stuck also. Fill the...

So, why'd you buy the overland vehicle you did?

I wanted another small and capable SUV after a few years of daily driving a crew cab 3/4 ton pickup. The wife and I had driven a few Xterras and the solid rear axle, leaf springs and fully boxed frame fit what I wanted plus it drove good and fit all 5 of us comfort. I'm very happy with my Xterra...

The outage at work is just getting going and I'm already feeling trapped.... Hope it's over on time and I can get out again. What's everyone got going on this month?

    Manual vs electronic 4x4

If it's like other makes, the only difference is the way the t-case is shifted. One uses a linkage to a handle and the other uses an electric motor with detent switches but both turn the same selector shaft and operate the same innards. I have a K2500 with the stick and the Xterra has the...

I have the webbing style. The mesh would have blocked my middle seatbelt and then I couldn't haul all three kids. I got the mil-spec webbing which took a bit longer on delivery since it wasn't a stocked item but I really like it...

Convoy Comms and Mode Standardization for Overland travel?

Oh, ok. Read it wrong. I can testify that it takes some away from that guy's experience on the trail since he has to be constantly relaying. I think if you needed to do something like that, then the primary service should be had by all and then the secondary used just for coms between the guys...

Convoy Comms and Mode Standardization for Overland travel?

By law that would be illegal as they would be effectively transmitting on Amatuer frequencies without a license. However, I understand what you're saying. As for the two radio groups, that kinda how our last ride went. We had a guy in the front and middle with CB only and the rest of the group...

I have the Raingler Attic in my Xterra, the "full" that covers the cargo area ceiling. I agree that it could be a bit tighter to the roof, but it would also limit it's capacity. I'm still not 100% happy with the way it sags with the straps all tight, but it does hold my old wool blanket, an...
