Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I've been looking at that trailer for a while. I have some pictures of a couple that are set up really nicely from an expedition trailer group on FB. Plus the high sides means it's easier to add a lockable top for security. I'll see if I can dig up those pictures.
With the recent upgrade, we seem to have lost the button that would allow you to jump to the top of a page in a thread. While you can use the slider bar on a computer, on my Android it was handy to snap to the top of the page to quickly find my place in the thread or get back to the "new posts"...
You might post up in the western Va area meet-up thread. There may be guys interested in running with you one of those days. This thread was just for that one trip.
I don't have any experience with KOR's sliders, but I did buy some things from them for my Cherokee and the customer service was top notch and they took care of a "lost in shipping" issue I had with some bushings for a track bar with one phone call. Nothing but good things to say about Kevin and...
I think I'm going to hit the Flea Market early to try and snap up the good deals then head over to Beale's afterward to grab supper with the family. Maybe 3ish? Let's all try to grab some beer and BBQ together!
I get out when I get free time. Free time isn't abundant anymore though. I've made a couple trips this year. One alone, one with the family, and one with the OB crew around here. It is what it is. Hoping to get a few more in next year though. October is my favorite month to be outdoors and this...
I completely mashed the passenger side rocker panel on my 98 Cherokee on my very first mild wheeling trip in it. I pulled the step tubes off my Xterra yesterday and my sliders should be here by early December.
If you have the slightest bit of "we'll give it a try" or "that doesn't look too...
Picture from the bottom of the hill at the RTT a few weekends ago. Can you guess which light is the $15 Coleman lantern I resurrected?
I love the old coleman lanterns. I've got 4 right now and looking for a couple other models.
Always double check your spare, jack and lug wrench as part of your pretrip. You never know when you'll have need of them and so many folks are without them and not aware of it! I try to keep my spare in rotation on my Xterra and the jack handle is required to lower the spare from under the rear...
I should have clarified. When I said armor I was talking about skids AND sliders. My sliders are ordered as we speak. I started smashing my step tubes and don't want a repeat of my Cherokee with a flattened rocker panel.
AWESOME stuff man! Buy the goodies as you find you need them, get armor first!!! Sounds like you had a great time out there, hope you get to do it much more often!
Still waiting on my sliders to get here but I sold my CO2 setup a few weeks ago, so I just ordered an ARB CKMA12 single compressor to take it's place. I'm going to set it up for portable use for the time being but I plan on permanently mounting it once I get an ARB installed in the future...
Well, I couldn't swing the dual right now, but thanks for the recommendation. I just placed my order for the CKMA12 medium sized unit. 3.0cfm unloaded and like 2.7cfm @ 29psi. Better specs than either of the Viair units, and 50% duty cycle with 30 min run time. I'll have to make it a portable...
@Brooke Xterra's are bad about the cats breaking up and ruining the engine. The catalyst material is sucked into the rear cylinders and eat them up. You'd do well to get this thing to a shop ASAP and get the primary cats replaced. A couple hundred bucks for cats is cheaper than a couple grand...
Thanks, I've been over that How-to a bunch, same user name on TheNewX. I've got the HF carrier ready to go but I'm going to make plates that fit on the side of the cargo area and will widen up the rear legs so my two totes and tool box should still fit under it or a fridge in the future.
