Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Since I did this last weekend:
My next purchase will be sliders. That moved the step back about an inch and a half and up about an inch. No real damage to anything but the brackets and the tip of the tube, but I'm getting too brave to have these damage multipliers on the side of the Xterra.
That depends on what he's trying to measure. If he wants to know alternator output voltage, then that's as good a place as any. If he wants to know the kind of voltage being supplied to his accessories, such as radio, acc plug, or other interior do-dads, it should be tied into the interior fuse...
Every vehicle has drawbacks. My Xterra has its alternator on the bottom as well. But it fit every other need I had. I avoid water crossings and deep mud whenever possible so I'm not overly worried about it. Its usually not shorting out you have to worry about with an alternator though, it's dirt...
If you go north of Roanoke on 311, there is the Bald Mountain road, I'll have to find the FS # for it. Its a nice ride but not very challenging. You can go left, off the top toward Oriskany and come up by Roaring Run Furnace for a bit of a hike and to splash in the water. There's a neat...
Hey guys, just got home about an hour ago, been airing out my gear. I had a great tome out there, it was great to meet everyone and check out a new place. Brett and I camped in the first big site along that last ridge and man did y'all miss a great night to camp. I hope everyone posts up some...
Well, feel free to give us a shout if something changes man.
Finishing up breakfast and then I'll be hitting the road for Lexington. Is anyone else going to meet-up with me there? I've got a buddy coming from down Giles way who's supposed to be there.
I'm not really sure about where to get fuel, I would probably fill up when I got off the interstate if I was you. As for camping, I added a pole at the beginning of the thread so anybody who wants to can vote on it real quick and give us an idea who's planning on camping.
Just a reminder for...
I'm going to pickup a fire extinguisher and possibly a shovel before the trip this weekend. Been meaning to get a fire extinguisher and a little bigger shovel for a while now.
I'm probably going to be in Lexington at Wal-Mart around 8:30 or so, and try to pull out around 9 to head up. It looks like it's about 45min from there to B&R so that should give us some extra time. If you are planning to get your supplies the morning of, please arrive earlier and be ready to...
Use the basic Reese POD. I have a "nicer" proportional one with the accelerometer in it that increases the brake action on harder stops in my K2500 and it just won't provide a reliable amount of brake pressure.
I've adjusted it by the book several times and because of the mountains I live in...
So we've got the Big Levels trip this weekend guys! Awesome stuff and I'm looking forward to getting out with y'all again.
With the wife and kids back in school, I'm not sure what kinda time I'm going to have next month. Looks like the 16th and 23rd are free for me right now.
Does anyone have...
I'm a little further inland but if you find time to get over this way, give me a shout. I'm sure we can get something worked out. I've got some great camping, hiking, and fishing local to me and I've been working on exploring my area better to find all the good little spots.
