Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
It depends on what I'm doing and who's with me. I've become a Coleman stove junkie so I have a selection. If I'm alone, my single burner Coleman does the trick. For supper it's usually a steak cooked on iron. Then while the steak rests, I'll get my sides ready. For breakfast, I can heat enough...
Sounds like a 05-up Pathfinder with the third row seating would be more up your alley! They are almost identical to the Xterra's but slightly longer and IRS.
Every vehicle has their quirks and I always implore people to do some real research into a vehicle before buying. I love my Xterra and so do most people who have them. They can be had for a reasonable price and if you opt for a first gen, they are getting really affordable.
A RTT would be fine for just two people and a dog. You wouldn't have to be as concerned about where you went if everything is on a single vehicle. But, I certainly see the merit of a camper.
In my opinion, you'd be better off getting a pop-up or teardrop instead of a slide in and a back half...
The wife and I have been talking about a couple-day long trip over near Asheville/Cherokee NC then heading to Gatlinburg from there in June. Not 100% sure what we'll be getting into but that's kinda the point isn't it?
I also want to do a weekend trip to Flag Pole/Reddish Knobs and possibly...
Well hopefully we can get something going to December. My schedule is already silly busy, but maybe we can all get together for a good meal if nothing else.
Thanks man. I really don't go that far North very often but I might try to check that out next summer. Probably done with Overland trips for the winter, focusing on saving money for the last lift parts and tires in the spring.
Cool! About how long is the trail in terms of time for a solo rig or small group of 2-3 trucks? I had wanted to get another run of Flag Pole in this fall, but a big outage at work ate up October and going into the holidays, I'm just not going to have the time. Plus, I'm now waiting on my sliders!
Got any more info on this trail? That looks like a good place to check out some time.
What we're talking about right now is getting to the flea market early and then heading to a local Beer and BBQ joint around 3 or so to hang out. I've still got some details to find out, but the BROG guys...
For a single guy, I would think a RTT or converting a camper shell into a sleeping platform (if you have a pickup) would both be good options. I have a family of 5, so there's not many RTTs with the amount of room we'd need out there. The wife and I have been talking about one of the high...
Bilstein is probably the best "disposable" shock on the market. Meaning the type of shocks you completely replace when they are worn out or damaged. It doesn't matter what platform you are talking about, they seem to set the standard. You have Icon, Radflo, FOX, and many many others in the...
Found them!
These are 3 different trailer builds with that trailer as the base.
This was the first one I saw. The first one is with stock tires, the second with upgraded and axle flip IIRC.
And two other nice builds, but I like the hinged, lockable top of the first one better personally.
