Emergency power from your car to power home appliances by way of your vehicle, as well as battery banks, solar info, etc.

I found this info from a podcast called "The Survival Podcast", and hope to get my Xterra set up, just in case.
One of my favorite podcasts, as well as information sharing.

Steven Harris is a wealth of knowledge, and a crazy bastard :-)

Not sure how long you've been listening, but I'm the guy that produced, shot, directed, and edited the PDC for Perma Ethos...

Cheers, and great job good sir. I've listened in on the podcast for about three years, and have been working on getting out of the every day grind a bit harder ever since.

I have a Toyota Prius PlugIn as a company car... should be a nice generator :P

Though I doubt I'll ever need it.. the town i live in has one of the largest electrical plants in the country.. so I doubt we'll ever be without power due to lines breaking or something.

When I used to live on the road my wife had her Liberty CRD and a we kept a big 1200 watt power inverter in the barn. She never needed to use it, but it was simple, fool proof set up, and I might add a very old idea on our part as we had that inverter for nearly 20 years. Clip it onto the battery, idle the diesel engine forever, run extension cord to the house..
