Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I know it was a joke. still inaccurate. Don't get me started on my woes with Dodge and jeep products. I would rather get hit with a bucket of my own crap than to drive anything from them anymore. ha ha.
It's all fun. As I mentioned in a couple of camera and tech forums. How BORING would the world be if there was only one of something. Like only Fords. Mechanics would be out of jobs then.....

All good! But I guess you never experienced a CP4 high pressure fuel pump detonation….I decided to use preventative replacement and swapped out with an S&S diesel pump….
I am a Ford truck guy thru and thru, but my favorite cars are 1960’s chevy’s. Yet they are all built by man so they are bound to fail. Not “if” but “when.” Some of us are lucky to not experience the failures and some are not. I fall into the later part.
High pressure oil pump detonation cost me a 19k motor! Now a turbo failure is costing me 6k because Motorcraft decided to not manufacture the 2014 turbo so I had to upgrade to a 2019 turbo setup which meant a different mounting plate, exhaust manifolds and intake piping…. Oh and I get stuck with the core charge because Ford won’t take the 2014 turbo back…
So… say your blessings… and I will wait for you to join me on the other side!!!
yeah, I get that. a few years ago, Toyota had trouble getting chips that were made in China because at the time, Japan refused to say that Taiwan belonged to China and that caused a political backlash where Japan (Toyota) couldn't get certain parts. so I get that ALL parts are contingent on several different factors. luckily Toyotas never break down...
as to the OP...I don't know much about the Chevy brand, but it is true that I haven't seen all that many of them wheeling in the really remote areas. I went out to black gap with @Sparksalot a while back and we were out in some remote and fairly rough terrain and he was killing it with a 2wd Tahoe...which I would guess share the same or similar drivetrain, etc as the silverado...so maybe a lot of it has to do with marketing?
I do see a lot of these on the back glass of trucks...especially in the dirty south

Yeah, the Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Suburban, Silverado, Sierra, Avalanche and Caddy Escalade are all the same, based on the K1500 (half ton) design. And of course the 2500 series trucks (and previously the 2500 series Suburban and Avalanche) are very similar but heavier axles and stronger engines.
So a lot of times people are appalled by how many vehicles GM has to recall for, say, a bad sensor, when really these are all the same vehicle in a different wrapper, with little difference

I loved my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Had it past 2019, even...Everything was easy to work on...and it's a good thing, too, because I HAD to work on it.
The only other Dodge I had was an 88(?) Dodge Laser. Not a bad little car. Actually if I knew then what I know now, I probably could have kept either vehicle running much longer. Wouldn't mind another WJ

Don't have diesel, and don't have turbos. Coyote motor for me, thanks. If I had a super duty I would have godzilla. N/A power only. No turbo issues, no fueling issues, no insane maintenance costs. I can't roll coal, but that's fine, I don't have a bro dozer and wear a flat bib.
I have 208,000 on my 2016 F150 5.0 and it's still like a brand new truck. Even rusties are not taking hold of the chassis yet or anything. 10 years in the saltiest place in Canada. Most 2016 chev and dodge trucks are piles of red dust here.I saw a 2021 Silverado 1500 on the ramp where I get my oil changes and what not done, and it's chassis had soft spots in it. That's insane. Chev must be sourcing their chassis metal from Toyota. I had a bunch of stuff happen to my truck recently, but it's all silly stuff from rusting clamps and a water pump failure. Other than that it's been good to go. No major issues at all. My 99 dakota 318 would eat ball joints every week if I was up in the backcountry in it, The steering box went, the steering column went, there was always a knock in the front end no matter what was replaced. It was a perfect sized truck at the time, and the 318 was great unless it was misty or raining. Then it wouldn't start.
I have owned approx 15 - 20 F150s throughout my life and the only major failure I had was my 2008 5.4. It left me stranded on the highway due to a failed fuel sending unit. When I sold it, it had 250,000 plus on it in 2.5 years. I would have kept it but the dealership here angered me after they sent out loyalty discounts to customers who purchased 1 vehicle and we never received any after buying 8 trucks in 4 years. 3 at a time twice and two singles. I went to jeep then, and that is when I figured out jeep was fun........for awhile. ha ha.
