I'm down, and ready to go. Hopefully timewise everything falls into place so we can get in line at the same time.

    SF Peninsula 4x4 shop recs?

Top Shop Auto in Lafayette is one option, I haven't been there personally yet but they do work on OB Micheals Landcruiser quite a bit. Otherwise another one to check out is Shaffers Offroad Wheel Drive Shop in Alameda. Again, I have not been to this one either but they both come recommended in...

Could taking a shower or washing a pan make you an outlaw?!?

I leave my spots cleaner than I find them. Rarely do I shower at camp either. This is the first im hearing about this here too but other than trying to strain my food I don't know what to do. We have to piss outdoors too and I dont see how food particles can be any worse than urine. I'll deal...

    Gazelle Tent Issue

I did but its tough because the creases are at the corners. They aren't soft enough to mend together.

    Gazelle Tent Issue

Ah, you haven't woken up to an ant and spider orgy in you tent then yet. They came right through the velcro and into the tent on one occasion.

    Gazelle Tent Issue

The flooring on the tent absolutely sucks but like BC Moto said I used duct tape around the perimeter where the Velcro is to keep out the critters.

    Solar Setup

Finally I'm understanding this a bit more I think. I've seen these kits online and had been wondering if it would help my setup. thanks!

    Solar Setup

Thanks for the pics and the info, I'm putting the pen to the paper when I get home to bookmark some parts.

    Solar Setup

Interesting, so the controller works as a relay I suppose? Charging only when needing it? I have two Optima batteries on a t max isolator, even using the 12v instead of my inverter and the freezer will run the battery down quickly. The alternator will take it but bottom line is it's not charging...

    Solar Setup

Not to thread jack here but I was going to post something very similar until I found this. I do have a question though regarding the solar controllers. What is the function of it and how does it tie in? I've also been looking for diagrams.

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

What size memory card are you guys using for downloaded maps? I exceeded my 32g factory memory rather quickly since the os takes so much to run.

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Not sure if it’s the same but it does have a location access I can toggle on/off. It did not label it as “gps” though. I suppose I can go to Best Buy and look into the device that you have.

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I have the paid version, I bought a one year subscription So when I’m driving I am moving, it picks me up on the map however it does not follow me on the map. I’m driving off and need to zero in on my own again. I’m using the iPad I was issued at work so no real loss there. It’s tied in with...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I have a bit more of an understanding now myself after reading all of this. Not having a turn by turn capability though is one thing, however the issue I'm having is while I'm in the learning and testing phases at moment I can see my speed/distance are not being logged by the icon indicating...

Am I doing this wrong? (Roof rack content)

Thanks for the input Don, I appreciate your first hand tips from having one yourself. I found that by adding the light bar it didn't really pose as big of a problem as I initially thought and the glare is there but not as bad as I thought it would be considering. After moving it below the rack...

Am I doing this wrong? (Roof rack content)

Hey guys/gals! Basically what I am trying to accomplish is having enough storage in my 3rd gen 4Runner. As a cost-cutting measure I attempted to extend the cheap Curt rack I bought last year off of Craigslist. Now while it will work for my storage purposes by keeping light items in the front and...

Inreach, which model and what plan?

Thanks for clarifying, I'd hate to be one of the ones that make that mistake.
