The Icon 2.0 rears showed up today and it didn't take long to get them on.
I had planned on measuring droop before and after but my jackstands are not tall enough to let the axle droop much with the wheels on and I'm too exhausted to remove and reinstall them (wheels). What I did find is the...

I used the truck to help shuttle 22 women around the mountain (plus 2 vans) for a mountain bike retreat. I ended up removing the bed rack and RTT on the second day because the 4-bike rack was so floppy I was worried it would damage my hitch on the rutted out fire road climb. I definitely need to...
I'd reckon you're right.
Except owning and riding a super capable bike isn't about the bike being more capable than you. It's about ride feel and safety. If I rode a bike that was "my level" it would feel like crap and be unsafe on bad line choices on gnarly trails compared to a higher level...
This thread ROCKS! Yeah I said it. I also make people listen to me recite the tale of Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus too.
Everyone should have a "Jeep" growing up. A vehicle that takes you wherever your heart desires in that search for, everything!
I installed AutoSpring 1" - 1.5" add-a-leafs. With the weight of our camping gear and bikes the rear of the truck would sag enough to aim my headlights too high and I got tired of adjusting them everytime we went camping. The payload on this truck is the highest in its class but you still lose a...
Great story and fantastic action shots.
I'll wait till I have real sliders and a couple more pieces of under armor before I tackle that trail. Signal Peak was at my comfort limit. :)
It's like that on all social media platforms and anywhere a person can spout off in a hateful manner and not be subject to getting punched in the mouth for it.
I am really enjoying how civil OB is. It's refreshing.
I agree with this in general, especially about aftermarket support. However, despite there only being a 6" difference in width between the Silverado and Colorado the actual driving experience is quite a bit different even when you compare similar wheelbase. The Silverado CrewCab Short bed has a...
Is that mpg gain reflected in hand calculations? Trifecta and others claimed big mpg gains but when people did the hand calculations they found the display read 2-3mpg higher than it should be. That's way more than the factory error when factored over multiple tanks.
Nicely done!
I think your results jive with mine and what auto magazines and GM concluded. The air dam is worth around 1mpg at highway speeds but now worth anything at city speeds.
Because I spend 60% of my time at 65mph-75mph I like having it on for long trips but I take it off when just...
In your case a nice hybrid tire would be awesome. Something along the lines of the the Ridge Grappler, S/T Maxx, Open Country R/T etc. Or something a little less aggressive like the Duratrac or KO2. It's nice not having to worry about fuel economy or ride quality. :)
With your commute maybe look at the new Continental Terraincontact (top rated AT by Consumer Reports) and the Geolandar AT G015. Both are decently fuel efficient and have excellent highway manners, are super quiet and do pretty well offroad as long as you stay out of deep mud. The new Cooper AT3...
I installed the AutoSprings add-a-leafs (1" to 1.5") today. It's pretty straightforward. I had a little trouble getting the new longer bolts in place and managed to punch myself in the face HARD when a wrench slipped off the shock bolt. My nose didn't bleed because I was already lying down so...
