I cut more out of the rear of my front fender well to make room for the big tires. We have a ton of room in there but the stupid plastic trim piece is sort of a pain to work with. It is hard to melt and reform without it looking like crap and the little plastic clips that hold it to the body...
The truck looks great. It looks taller in person. I was in front of you from the intersection in Cool until the stoplight in Auburn. Was that your wife in front of me? I was in a dark grey CRV with mountain bikes on the back.
Please do! Especially in cold temps. Last weekend it dropped below 20F in the Sierra and the foam hardened up. When it finally collapses and forms to your body it will leave a depression for a couple of minutes if you move. It was like lying in sand at the beach. lol
I was able to squeeze another 2" memory foam mattress in with the original mattress (not their upgraded mattress). If it turns out you need more padding that could be an option for you. I'm a side sleeper with skinny hips and Tepui said they didn't think their upgraded mattress alone would be...
Looks like a fun trail. If you're using a GoPro you may want to put it on a selfie stick for those water crossings. I think the drivers were enjoying trying to splash you. lol
Fishing didn't produce any additional protein for dinner but Trevor got to play with the flyrod a bit while I practiced casting. For someone who has never used anything but a bait-casting setup for largemouth bass, flycasting was completely alien to him so it was fun watching his reactions which...
We had planned to tag along with a small group doing Barney Bailey Trail last weekend but those plans fell through so Trevor and I quickly formulated a new plan to finish off Henness Pass Road from Camptonville, CA to Verdi NV with some camping mixed in. If all went right we would camp at White...
Works for me. As much crap as I load into my truck I often think she's The Irish Rover. Then when she starts making weird noises, squeaks and rattles I call her "The Antelope".
Trevor and I did some exploring over the last 3 days. We started with Henness Pass Road (Camptonville) to White Rock Lake then finished Henness Pass to Verdi, NV. Then headed over to Moon Rocks (outside of Reno) for some climbing and the last night of camping.
White Rock Lake. Camping on the...
I just read a report from a friend who put the Fox Silverado shocks on the rear and he said it is very well planted and soaks up bumps at speed but that the ride is very firm. With only a 1" lift in the rear you have a bunch of shocks to choose from. At 2" it becomes very limited unless you step...
I think they work well, especially at speed on washboard roads. They keep the rear planted WAY better than the oem shocks which would cause the rear end to skip around dangerously. If you want a somewhat softer shock you can go with Fox but get the Silverado shock which is longer.
Installed Bora 1.25" spacers up front to stop the tire from rubbing the frame and sway bar. I was worried the tires would poke too much but it actually looks good. Now I'm rubbing on the back of the wheel well so I need to trim more.
Power seats are rad. lol
I installed a Hypertech inline speedo calibration module to correct for the oversized tires. I've been using a Scangauge II to monitor my actual speed but with the 33s I noticed the truck isn't shifting quite as well and sometimes doesn't want to downshift when at WOT. The only way to adjust the...
