I REALLY hate painting......
I did a crappy masking job on the window trim and when I peeled the tape off I could see stripes of chrome. So I re-taped the bad areas and sprayed them again and somehow ended up spraying about 8" of rubber above the chrome where I didn't mask. mothe%^&&^$#!

While trying to diagnose some of my clunking issues, the local mechanic shop (Applegate Garage) bent this bracket down a bit to extend the brake line when the rear reaches max droop. They were pretty maxed out with the truck on the lift and the rear end hanging. It bends easily be hand and...
Finished my honey-do list and decided to paint the chrome window trim. It's easy they said. It'll be fun they said....
Broke a damn clip.
It's cold and raining so I broke out the Heater Buddy to help dry the paint. :)

Besides the honey-do list I snuck in just enough time to try out rubber "shims" between the top 2 leaf springs to stop the rear end clunk I get when articulating entering/exiting driveways and parking spots with dips. It has worked for a bunch of other Colorado/Canyon owners. I also installed...
I don't think anyone is giving him a hard time. We are mainly commenting on the ridiculous markup on the TRD Pros in the US and Canada. Fozzy325 could be a millionaire for all I know. I'm a big advocate of buy what makes you happy and don't worry if anyone else thinks you got a good deal or a...
The TRD Pro Tacos and especially 4Runners are regularly marked up by crazy amounts over MSRP. You see it with Raptors too. People still buy them though. I think it's nuts but it's just money, to some people.
What a cool build!
I really like the water tank above the spare tire and the rear bumper. Some day I'll get the AEV bumper for my Cayon which is very similar. Those tubular side bars will help my anxiety when the back end starts shifting around while crawling around on rocky trails.
Are you...
Played around with some chalk. Just a quick test of tire pressure with the P285/70/17 Wildpeaks. General knowledge says that with a tire that has a lot more air capacity than the oem tire (255/65/17) may require less air pressure. So at 36psi-35psi (measured with a good gauge) I chalked the...
Looks great! I've seen GXs out on trails and I'm thinking how the hell did a Lexus get out here. I had to look them up. Had no idea they were so capable.
Installed a Street Rays sway bar relocation bracket today. It's a nice kit for $27 on eBay. The bracket moved the sway bar down and forward. Now the sway bar sits at the stock angle and I'll have more tire clearance should I ditch the 1.25" wheel spacers for something thinner or new wheels.
I used it for work...
We used to have an '04 F250 V10 crewcab with a 4" lift as our work truck but it was huge and sucked gas to the tune of 9mpg. None of the office staff wanted to drive it and our lands stewardship team only drove it when they needed to tow or haul heavy loads. So we sold it...
I'm told there are plenty of places to camp in the area. We lucked out and the place died down late in the day so we were able to camp right in the middle of some of the rock formations. It's definitely not where you would want to be when people are crawlin. :)
