I've been trying out the free version of Gaia GPS and so far I'm extremely underwhelmed. The program is so buggy and broken in very fundamental ways that there's no possible way I'd be willing to spend money on it. It's a shame, because the program would be outstanding if it actually worked...
When the cat's away, the mice will play, as the saying goes.
I know that OB members will be doing their part to counteract this. I hope all of you guys in the US of A will be doing your best to educate the fools out there causing problems. It may not help, but sometimes a little heart to heart...
Strongly recommended never to carry gas cans in your car. Extremely dangerous for many reasons. You could probably get away with just lashing it to your roof rack as long as you do so carefully. Cheaper than using rotopax mounts.
Good to know. If a vehicle with low range doesn't need any braking at all to descend safely, I would probably be okay as long as I took it nice and slow. I've done some pretty long, steep descents before with no issues.
Mainlander here, but I have family on the island, so I do have reason to go there from time to time.

You may also want to post in the regional forum further down, as they probably have an Arkansas specific forum that might get you quicker results.
Good luck!
I'm probably the lowest budget guy on here. My rig is a 1999 Honda CR-V I paid $1800 for on Craigslist. I painted the wheels, trim and wipers myself with rattle can spray paint, installed a $20 used CB radio, fabbed a mount for the $16 fibreglass antenna, got brother in law to fab me a skid...
I believe the original concept was whatever you did with your rig, applied stickers, fixed something, went somewhere, put a new rtt on, whatever it might be you did with your rig today.
Absolutely awesome spots. I thought some of the first pics were in BC, and I see I was right :D
I'm planning on a big expedition to the northwest of BC, near the tip of the Alaska Panhandle late this summer to explore three ghost towns up there. You can count me in as one who absolutely can't...
