Are you prepared or are you rolling the dice? Be honest.

That'll be far better. Your rig is totally sick, btw. I plan on doing a very similar setup with my rack - light bar and limb lifters.

    Inflatable boats/boats

My extremely generous buddy at work gave me his awesome Intex Mariner 3: (Please excuse all the kiddos toys strewn about lol) I decided to inflate it tonight to give it a clean and check it out. I'm extremely stoked. The boat and oars, minus the slatted floor that comes with it (not inserted...

2020 TRD Pro 4runner Army Green

Question: Has anyone ever tried slapping a Taco face on a 4runner of the same gen? I feel like that would look awesomesauce.

Are you prepared or are you rolling the dice? Be honest.

Heyo! Military background, currently serving LE here too. Thank you for your service! Good video overall. I'd say my preparedness is pretty good - I've pretty much got everything checked off that you mention. I agree with the point about being smart about decisions you make, especially when...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Finally got a proper first aid kit and a decal to go along with it. I already had a fire extinguisher in the little cubby built into the rear door.

    Patches

They make a pop-in headliner for the jeep Wrangler. Trailrecon has one and he loves it - apparently it's intended for noise dampening but it's fuzzy and patchable. Oh wait, I just re-read your post. I'm an idiot, sorry lol Maybe apply some felt material to the inside of it? Or better yet...

    Patches

Morale patch collecting started with the military, I believe. Just what it says on the tin - a morale booster that's just meant to be fun and not taken too seriously.

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

My OME lift springs and bilstein shocks are going to cost quite a bit, probably $1200-1300, which is why I haven't done them yet, but considering my struts are original and now 20 years old, I figure it's worth spending a bit of cash to get a really good setup.

    Patches

That's what I do with mine. They stick fine. Your headliner looks too smooth. You need a fuzzier one maybe?

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Drove to work in it in a blizzard. Had to do a very short bit of off-roading from the freeway onto a parallel road to get around a 30 car pileup. Driving home ought to be interesting!

I mightily approve of this thread. I love winter camping :D

    Uncle Sam's House Mason NH

I did a drive through New Hampshire and Vermont during my initial training in Quebec, and I have to say, it's absolutely beautiful, perhaps you could even say idyllic out there. Would love to visit there again sometime and explore.

    Tahoe/Rubicon Trail?

Well said, V-Man. Certainly by the looks of that video, it's still an extremely daunting challenge for any vehicle, and the scenery looks absolutely breathtaking. Maybe I'll be the first ever to drive a Honda CR-V through it lol Maybe not, but I might end up being the first to even try. For...

2007 Honda Pilot Off Road Build

As for snorkels, as far as the rake angle and length goes, I would bet that a snorkel made for an 80 series landcruiser would fit, assuming the air box is on the same side (I'm not familiar with the Pilot's engine layout). They are known to fit the RD1 CRV and the lines are very similar, as...

Not your typical Overland Vehicle (pics)

I always love seeing rear tire carriers. I've always felt that's just the proper place for a spare tire on a 4wd. :D

Welcome to the Western Canada thread

I haven't had a chance to go wheeling up there, but I have a buddy who lives in Trail, and there's definitely many opportunities for bush camping and wheeling. A good place to start might be this interactive map...

I don't specifically know of any local events in the next few weeks, but if I hear of any, I'll post them up in the Western Canada regional forum and include an @RandieMcA to you. You may also want to to check out BC4wd association, I think they run intro to 4wd runs locally. They'll be at BCOR...

My pleasure :) I should also mention that BC Overland Rally is coming up in June and the early bird tickets are on sale (reduced price) I went to 2018 and it was an absolutely fantastic event. I might try to organize an OB meetup just before in order to drive the West Harrison FSR en route to...
