I know this is an old thread, but I'm strongly considering buying a 4 person inflatable raft with a rigid transom and floor and outfitting it with a 6 hp 2 stroke motor for extending my exploration capabilities. I have a major expedition planned for august/september of this year, and a boat is...
Definitely possible that in that barren landscape, someone who doesn't see the sign or isn't pre-informed would have a hard time seeing any harm to camping out there. Best response is to try educating them first.
Now I can't be certain and unfortunately I couldn't get a picture, but I'm fairly certain my recce eye spotted a member badge on the left front quarter panel of a sweet looking silver Mitsubishi Pajero with some fancy wire-esque dusty gold wheels headed southbound in the border lineup into...
Sweet build - I have a soft spot for tiny 4wd's. Here's mine:
1999 Honda CR-V. I've done a bunch of work since I took this pic too, but lots more to do. Keep exploring; tiny rigs unite! :D

In a...
I use an old alice pack as a "poor man's trasharoo," and I always pack out tons of garbage left by idiots. How sad is it that I'm considering buying a trasharoo for more capacity to carry other people's trash because I often run out of room?
GMRS requires no license in Canada, but the restrictions on power and the specifications for the equipment are different than in the US, so technically you can't use a US high power GMRS unit with a separate antenna in Canada, but realistically nobody is going to know or care if you do, so I...
CB has no licensing requirements of any sort in North America. GMRS varies between Canada and the US, Ham requires licenses in both countries, not sure if a license in one allows you to operate in the other as a visitor.
