Hey people, I want to see peoples Oddball rigs. Things that can but usually are not associated with overlanding rigs. stuff like a kia Borrego, chevy trailblazer, a Toyota highlander and stuff like that. The more modded the better. The overland sites are RIPE with JK's, land rovers...

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

Will do, I will be doing a build report when I start. How hard would it be to make a skid? I have a plasma cutter, and metal brake etc. I am thinking, a cardboard cutout for a template, and go from there. I am putting a half wrap on the back in to advertise out autism travel blog...

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

I emailed RR a while ago about the escape lift, they have kyb shocks that are matched to the springs. it's 600 for the entire setup. I need some extra height. That being said, there are the H&Rs and Canuck springs that give a 1" - 1.5" all the way around. I do want to keep SOME rake in my...

Does a good 4WD vehicle have to be expensive?

No. a good 4wd vehicle does not have to be expensive. I bought my escape, which I am enjoying a lot, for 3000 plus tax. it has less than 100,000 KMs on it. It needs a bit of exhaust work, and my upgrades I want to do. But as it stands right now, I would drive it anywhere.

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

Fugitive, I noticed in your build thread on the other site, you were looking at lighting options. I am putting an auxbeam light mount and lights on the front of my two rigs. A light bar on top of the mount and two Amber floods on the bottom for crap weather. Check them out.

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

Ha ha. Small lift on the front end and airbags in the back is more likely what will happen.

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

Yes I agree. I need to freshen up my suspension as well. I hate the downward dog pose of my escape now however.

    High mileage rigs?

My 2003 150's chassis rotted. I loved the truck, perfect size, had 33's on it, and was efficient compared to my Jeep. BUT! the frame rotted.

    High mileage rigs?

I don't mind high mile rigs, the issue up here is RUST. the red scurge. There are many rigs that could go on and on drivetrain wise, that are dust in the body and chassis department. Finding a good older rig here is hard to do.

    Help! ZR2 vs. Rubicon

No they are not. However they are probably bombing at obstacles instead of driving properly. I know many Jeep owners with 37's on stock front ends (which I assume you are talking about) without a problem for tens of thousands of miles

I am adding a couple of go pro style cameras and a tracking drone to our kit very soon as well.

    Help! ZR2 vs. Rubicon

And 37s fit on a rubi with a leveling kit and slight trimming. the jeep is a proven platform that can take 37's without issue. it's not a comparison off road. I am not saying that the ZR2 is bad, I am just saying the rubicon is that much better off road. then you come back around to the...
