A Tradesman for off pavement travel/dispersed camping.

Seems like a great platform for an Overlander. Tons of space, both for clean storage (cab) and in the bed. Sure, there will be times wheelbase will give you issues (break-over and tighter turns) but for Overlanding I think it'll work out well. Obviously plenty of folks are doing it with the...

    2018 GMC Canyon MTB/Overland/Adventure Rig

Nice! I'm surprised you were able to move the front wheel much, but agree it's almost always easier to make room up front than fight the hard-stop in the back of the wheel well (firewall, door, etc.). -TJ

One of my favorite breakfasts.. Breakfast Tacos!

Yup, applies to any Fried Rice, not just brrrrruuuuuffffffussssss. Breakfast fried rice usually happens a day or two after we do a dinner with rice (sometimes just basic rice, chicken and veggies... sometimes teriyaki rice bowls or stuffed bell peppers or something like that). -TJ

One of my favorite breakfasts.. Breakfast Tacos!

Nice! On longer trips we're always looking for a bit more unconventional breakfast. Obviously good old wakey-wakey-eggs-n-backey and things like a fried egg on a bagel with some ham 'n cheese are go-to breakfasts. But these would be a cool change in the rotation, and an alternative to the...

    1st Gen Tacoma Budget Build

Gotcha. I think with more wheel-time you'll find you can drive out of something like that... and the 4x4 conversion won't hurt! ;) -TJ

what do you carry your tools in? (ideas and pictures)

That is SO much better than what I have going for the actual hand-tool organization. I also have a RZR so I have an Action Packer that fits into a rack on the back of the RZR: (not mine, stock photo from manufacturer) Mine is actually configured the other way, cooler more re-ward you can...

    My build journal

Good question. It looks like you bought them outside of the lift kit. I imagine they're spec'ed for the lift (you will be running) and the weight of the rig? -TJ

    What is the one spice

Wow, I don't know how you pick just one. If salt doesn't count, then I think it's just pepper for me, especially if you're talking just ONE spice. Lots of the other things posted are spice mixes. If we're talking spice mixes, I like "Montreal Steak" seasoning on LOTS of things, so I guess I'd...

    Getting started ?

I've only Geocached a few times. Sometimes in Glamis we get a windy day where riding in the actual dunes is tough (the wind blows a 12-18" layer of sand up that hides witch's eyes and other trouble) and just sitting in the trailer all day is boring (I can only watch John Wick so many times...

    You tube Overlanding

That's a nice, simple but usable setup. I like it. I've been thinking about sleeping platform options for my WJ, and I think I tend to over-think it a LOT and let my mind run wild with crazy setups. -TJ

    2nd Alternator for House Power

I had a buddy when I was younger who ran 2nd alternators on all of his stuff. His family ran an automotive electrical shop, so it sort of was a no-brainer for him. It seems like 2nd alternators are not done as often anymore with much higher output alternators available. Of course, a higher...

    1967 c10 Duramax build

Well, I now have a new favorite build on OB! I've dreamed of a C/K10 body on a later D'max chassis with a SAS for aaaaaaaaaages. -TJ

Don't worry, my WJ can't hang with a lot of stuff either. When I plan group trips we plan around the least-capable vehicle in the group. Every run doesn't have to be a balls-to-the-wall, test your capability at every twist and turn, white-knuckler. -TJ

Howdy. I have a good friend up in Shasta Lakes and have done some trips up your way. Great country up there, and not too far from me (Lincoln). -TJ

Building a home in a 80 series Landcruiser

WOW... that looks, ummm... fun? I am not looking forward to doing a heater core someday on my WJ. I have the under-hood of my rig apart, and also thinking "I hope I remember how this goes back together." In my case, I'm lucky that I have a second WJ to look at for reference. ;) -TJ

    You tube Overlanding

I have to respectfully disagree. I've seen countless rigs bend a rocker, even ever-so-slightly, then have problems with doors not closing/sealing etc. for the rest of the life of the rig. It doesn't take much to tweak a rocker. IMHO if you're dropping down onto a rock-slider hard enough that...
