Mine is in front like that, but there's still a LOT of room between the radiator and that line... a LOT. I do agree he had 2 mods to make and I'm not a huge fan of them for something spinning on the front of your engine. He had to drill-out the fan holes and grind the locating tabs on the fan...
Agree 100%
His XJ, like my WJ, is pretty tire-size-limited. You need that ~4.5" lift to even get a moderate (by modern standards) size tire on it and PROPERLY clear it at full flex. Much like my current setup of 4.5" with a just-under-32" tire I think a XJ at 4.5" on something around a 32"...
"It all depends."
A lot of Overlanders are using things like Subi wagons, Honda Pilots, or other "cross-overs" with little lifts and bigger tires. A bone-stock JL or JT Rubicon, or even something like a Colarado ZR2 with their true front and rear lockers (and solid axles in the JL/T) are...
IDK if this vid is sped up or if this guy huffs helium before he records, but nonetheless here's a 12-blade setup that fits in place of the stock 5-blade (so should work w/ the AC-line with a factory '99-01 shroud off a mechanical fan equipped 4.7).

Left a VM with the vendor I got the ATI from, hopefully they'll get the right pulley on the way ASAP.
Also figured out the injector situation. I'm going to return the 1 injector I got for $40 and got a full set of 8 rebuilt and balanced Denso 12582704 injectors for $80. The Densos are a...
For recovery, especially if you travel solo, a winch is a must IMHO. I'm doing a hidden winch mount with my stock bumper on my WJ, I'll let you know how it all goes.
As for first aid, I really need to step-up my supplies and knowledge there. Any good resources you suggest?

If he's SAS'in it he can set the axles up however he likes.
I love SAS'ed rigs, but it is a HUGE undertaking and a lot of work. It'll be amazing, but most of the wheelin' community has largely moved past leaf/leaf setups anyway. IMHO going to a leaf front and rear solid axle config on...
Old stuff mostly out of the way:
(yes, vice-grips on the cams... don't worry they're not on a lobe or journal)
Everything back together:
Got a pic of each witness mark to know it was in-time (and yes, this was BEFORE I cleaned the block mating...
Here's some of the actual work getting done, I didn't get pics of much after a certain point since we were just getting things done, but here's some stuff...
The old front-cover gasket that actually showed lots of signs of leaking (note it's the 1-piece style, so that's what I put back in)...
Got some good work done. Started at a decent time this morning... for a Saturday, and quit 3 or 4 hours ago (to go help a buddy on a stereo install on his '17 RAM). So here's how it looks:
What's that you say? It basically looks like yesterday, other than those fancy...
Best I can tell, you were 110% right and I had zero reason to do the t-set... but I did anyway (the t-set was Cloyes, without going to a dealer I didn't see actual Mopar parts available). Details below...
Great advice, thanks!

Work kept being a real bummer today and, well, making me do work instead of play with a Heep. I also went and helped a buddy who's shopping for his first trailer check a few out. So, in the end I only got to put a couple hours in on this project.
Let me just say, working on the passenger...
Excellent posts, and so much of it mirrors my exact thoughts.
The stock hydraulic system has the capacity and is actually a pretty cool system -*BUT*- it's controlled using 20+ year old Chrysler computing and logic. I'm sure I could actually rig up my own solid state controller for the 3-wire...
