I've got an 03 XE with 140k on the clock. Sliders are on, made some diy cargo bars, mounted an atv box in between the rack bars. I've built a sleeping platform in the back, and have it setup to have a car seat back there as well.
Lokka and grassroots center link are inbound, and I'm doing the...
Looking good man! Another 03 owner on here! If you're not on xterranation.com, I'd highly recommend you join up. The folks over there are super knowledgeable with these rigs. I'm still learning about mine.
Can't wait to see what you do with your build!
I recently picked up a rockpals 500w power station. I decided to test it at home with both the heated hose and humidifier running to see what kind of draw I could get.
I slept a full 7 hours (which is actually more than I normally sleep), and still had 52‰ battery left in the morning. Power...
I actually have a first gen as well. I too went all over the place in that thing. It certainly has it's weak point (front dif seals and abs sensors being the biggest pita for me), but man, that thing took some abuse. I can imagine the 2nd gen colorados are at least as capable as the first gens...
As I start building out my rig, I've started to think about an auxiliary electrical system.
Ultimately, I've decided against installing a dual battery system for the time being. Instead, much of my campground electrical needs will be handled by my rockpals 500w power station.
I plan on...
I double checked last night. I have the same model of tablet, but the 16gb version. I still have no issues, just FYI. I store my gaia info on the sd card, as well as my play music downloads.
I got lucky and got one that had a working LTE connection out of the box, so I have data on the go (and...
I have this exact tablet, but bought it used off ebay.
It runs Gaia great. You can get around the storage issues by using a micro SD card, and telling Gaia to store maps on the card. I have a 128gb card in mine.
Welcome! I too live in the treasure valley.
There's not a ton going on right now due to the stay at home orders, but there's a weekly conference call every Sunday at 8:30.
I thought about the charge time for the lithium power station. I believe I can can get around it by using my inverter to charge it while driving.
I don't even have a fridge at the moment, so it's almost entirely going to be used to power CPAPs and charge camera batteries. Once I do get a...
What are you planning on running with it? I recently went through the process of figuring out power solutions myself.
After getting the agm battery (105Ah), isolator solenoid ($110 or so, including terminals and wires), fuse block, outlets, etc, I was looking at over $700, and it still...
I have a gas one gs-3400p stove that I've used a few times. Love it so far. I've used it at about 6000ft and not had any issues with it yet. We'll see how that goes though. I've only used it on propane, and not butane though.
Thanks for the update there. I must have missed that part. I wish it was a bit later, as that's my daughter's bed time, and sometimes she can be..... Difficult.
Thanks for the invite Mike! I'm DEFINITELY interested in doing this, as this virus is making most of my trips this year unlikely. As of right now, I don't know if 9 days is doable, unless I bring the wife and kid, and I don't know if that will play out.
We'll start discussing it though.
I needed a 31 inch spare and full size rim for the colorado when I bought it, which was cheap at a junkyard.
You should be able to find what you need there.
Check out a junkyard for a spare tire. It might not be the exact same tire you currently have, but it will be better than no spare. That's what I did for my daily driver truck. Cost me 30 bucks including the rim.
