Is the one that comes with the 275 bad? I have another one that I used with my baofeng prior to the 275. Should I think about swapping them out?

I have a mxt-275 on the way myself. I've been using a baofeng hand held with an external antenna for a few years. It worked well, but since I have a dedicated rig now, I figured I might as well have a permanent radio solution.

It's definitely something I'll consider. The fact that I wouldn't have to wire up yet another piece of equipment is certainly enticing. I don't have the money to but it at the moment, but soon. Unless you guys want to send me one to test and demonstrate for folks.

MXT275. I want to hide the unit under the center console, or in the dash, and use a shielded cat6 cable to connect the handset to a plug I'll mount on the dash. Should make for a nice clean install. You have to enter "BLACKFRIDAY" in the coupon code box at checkout.

My plan is to do the same thing once I get the xterra set up the way I want. I really start the build in January. Trying to plan things around the holidays is tough for sure. Maybe we start getting a feel for when people are available?
