    02 blazer build

Do you have a secondary transmission cooler for it? If not, you may want to think about adding one. They're relatively inexpensive, and heat is the fastest killer of transmissions.

    What do we really need?

Yeah, this pretty much is how we're rolling. We go out, use what we have, and adjust from there. For example, on the first trip with the family, we took my 4 person coleman tent. While it worked for 2 adults, and a 3 year old, it was TIGHT. My wife would prefer to be able to stand up to get...

US Northwest Bad Bear Picnic and social distancing socializing OB style.

Yeah, I ran one of these for years as my primary radio, and never had an issue with it. I used the antenna mentioned above as well as a battery eliminator. I keep it in the rig as a loaner/spotting radio as well.

Reaver's 03 Xterra XE "Gamora" build thread

It's been a few months since I've updated this thread. I've done a ton of stuff to the rig during that time. I scored a set of sliders of of somebody on xterranation who was building a new set. I was also able to score a Lokka for the front diff for $200 (also off xterranation). The...

    What do we really need?

For me, my needs change based on whether my family is going with me or not. They've also changed since I started doing this. I started with a bone stock 04 colorado z71. It's a good truck, and I went a lot of places, but I kept tearing up wheel hubs, abs sensors, and the ground clearance was...

Sorry @M Rose and I didn't make it out. We ended up spending ALL day installing the aux electrical system in the Xterra, only to not have things work the way we wanted to. We finally called it quits at 11pm.

HAHA. Yeah, she was a blast to watch. We miss you guys. And I don't blame her for not washing it. I've not washed Gamora either. I hosed it off only to get the mud off the sliders, so they don't get me or my wife dirty during normal use. LOL.

I thought that was Julie's jeep. I figured you'd have your own by now... Seriously though. Be safe, and have fun! This is on my list of trips to do in the next year or two, so take lots of pictures!

    DIY Electrical Fuse box!

The two main differences between what's above, and what is going in my X, is that I have a combined 6 relay/6 fuse box to run my lights, and a seperate 10 fuse box we'll be putting in the back of the X to run all my interior electrical accessories. I also bought a 5 outlet dc panel instead of a...

    Storage boxes.

I don't know what box you're using, but I've heard that it's pretty easy to weatherproof the Plano Totes using automotive weatherstripping.

    DIY Electrical Fuse box!

Yeah, do you have a higher res drawing? It's a bit hard to tell what's going on there. This is what I'm doing. My setup is going to be considerably more complicated than what you've got in the drawing, but if you're familiar with any electrical diagrams, it should make sense. What I'm...

Ground tent options for family 4 + 1

For my family, the way to go is quick, and easy. Having looked at both the t3 and t4, only the t4 would have worked for us. However, we used my Coleman 4 person instant tent. My wife, myself, and my 3.5yo daughter slept in it for 3 nights. While it worked, it was TIGHT. The coleman 4 person has...

I'm not 100% sure I can make this one. I have a 4 day trip the following weekend, and need to prep for it. We'll see though. I'd love to come out there. Maybe even bring the Kiddo.

2006 Land Rover Freelander - Camper Build

A buddy of mine drives an 03 grand Cherokee with non-selectable, full time 4wd, though he has a low range. I'm not sure if the freelander does. He's never gotten stuck, as far as I know. Don't worry about the horsepower thing. I'm rolling around with 180hp,and have plenty of torque getting up...

2006 Land Rover Freelander - Camper Build

They do get viewed that way. Thing is, they're super capable out of the gate. Add a moderate lift, and a rear locker, and that's about all you'd need. For overland use I'd take the r50 over the r51, just for the solid rear end. If uni body construction works for the xj, I don't see why the r50...

2006 Land Rover Freelander - Camper Build

I really like this build. You see tons of discos and defenders. I've even seen a few range rovers, but I think this is the first freelander I've seen. You've done a great job building the vehicle to suit your needs, and it's really turned out great.

I really like how you laid out that camping box. I'll be following your build to see what you come up with!
