The video didn't really capture a few things about this trail. OMFG was there a lot of rocks. Also, the hill towards the end was MUCH steeper than it looks in the video (or at least it felt that way). Also, the mound about half way in certainly felt a lot taller than it looked in this video.
Just ordered some collapsible tarp poles, because I need a way to get some shade/shelter, and I don't really want to spend 300 on an awning right now. I also picked up a small coleman roll out table to give me a place to cook. I used to do it on the tailgate of my truck, but the Xterra doesn't...
Went to the coyoteworks invitational this year. People were giving him such a hard time about that. He was also gifted a fire extinguisher.... So at least he has one now.
Might as well go for the radiator from a supercharged xterra. Direct fit, and better cooling capabilities. As far as brands, I'm not sure. I'd recommend going oem if you can find one.
Meeting was good! Had a decent turnout. @Reichling , @David C Gibbs , @ButDad and George were all there. Most brought their spouses.
I think we're all in agreement that once it warms up a bit, we'll be moving the meetup outside.
Thanks for all the info!
I moved here from Seattle several years ago, so I'm a transplant as well.
Not counting the cost of the truck, what would you say this build cost you? I've got a buddy who's done a bunch of sas builds (not on a 355 though) who'd love the challenge and loves...
Dude, that is a sexy 355. I'd love to hear more about the sas you did. I'm debating doing this to my 04 once it's paid off. This is precisely what I wanted to do to mine before buying my xterra.
This addresses the biggest weakness of this truck. The front differential is a major weak point on...
Installing a secondary trans cooler is never a bad idea. I run a Hayden 678 in my 04 colorado. I'm not towing anything really, but loaded with gear and crawling around at low speeds, I rarely see Temps go above 190. I run it in series with the stock cooler. Line come goes from the return portion...
I've been debating doing this exact setup pretty much with my xterra. We took my daughter camping for the first time last summer. Ended up not being much shade to speak of, which is why I was thinking about an awning, but 300 for the arb (which is known to be good quality) just isn't in the...
The addresses listed in rally point is all wrong. It's definitely NOT in Mongolia, China. Lol.
Here's the correct address:
12542 W Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83713
My coworker just put his 04 se up for sale for around 3800 or so. I think it's got around 125k on it.
I've got a mechanic I trust that I'd be happy to take it to for an inspection for you. The vehicle is located in Boise Idaho, FYI.
