You will want to air down to about 12psi for beach sand driving. Have fun and watch out for the sand covered trees while running down the coast.
Be sure to take a small shovel and a tow/snatch strap with you, too.
The can looks large enough to mount a small 12v computer fan to the side of the ammo can and wire it in to the compressor switch. That way it will blow cool air over the compressor while it runs.
I want to do all of those areas that you mentioned so that I can map them out on my Garmin. Starting in August we will probably go down that way once if not twice a month to hit those trails.
We live in a studio apartment, so when it isn't in the Jeep it is being used as a drink fridge inside. Yes, I have it running 24/7 and no issues what so ever.
We were down your way last weekend going over Montezuma's Pass. I love that area between Nogales and Sierra Vista. Next is to go more east from Sierra Vista to Douglas and hit those trails.
I think that you will be ok for a mid-week camp at Alta Lake. Our plan is to be there for 1 night mid-week as well. We stayed there 2 years ago on a weekend when we showed up at 7pm with 7 vehicles and found a great spot to camp. That was a July camping trip. Then last year in August we tried it...
Beadlock wheel just allow you to air down to around 5psi. Stock wheels will have no problem with airing down to anything above 10 psi. Don't go lower than that except in an emergency/stuck situation.
We live in Tucson and Mt Lemmon is on fire again and so is Tortalina mountains. Hwy 87 between Fort McDowel and Payson is on fire and shut down. Tucson heat is nice compared to Phoenix heat that never goes away. Plus we start the monsoon season today.
That is exactly what the issue was with me. I bought a 20 pack of ferrites from Amazon and put them just like you said. Worked for me on my Jeep JK. I am also changing out the wiring to the remote head to shielded wire once my new RJ9 4p4c terminal ends arrive.
I have the same radio Yaesu FTM400 and I have 3 pairs of LED lights on my Jeep. The refi interference was so bad that turning on just 1 pair would knock out the radio. To combat the issue I installed ferrite chokes that clip onto the existing wires. I put them at the beginning of each light...
You might want to keep an eye on the road closures in AZ. We currently have 3 big fires going on and they have shut down major roadways here in the state. Besides, visiting AZ in June/July is crazy talk for those not used to 100+ degree weather.
I want a Garmin Overlander GPS once the prices drop down low enough to justify the cost of one. Currently use a Samsung that I bought for $60 with no SIM card and I use Back country Navigator. Really pleased with it.
I have been reading all the mountain passes reports and my wife & I will be heading to the San Juans on the 27th of June and staying there till the 5th of July. Dispersed camping mostly and we will pop into a campground for a couple of nights just to buy a shower. If any other couples would...
I have the RV3 OZTent and I love it. Mostly camp by myself and like you I wanted a more rugged easy to set up tent. My wife likes the fact that she can stand up inside with no problems. We even have enough room to bring the portapotti inside for night time she she doesn't have to wander around...
