You need to spray PB Blaster on all of your nuts and bolts the day before you start working on them. It really will make it much easier to take them off. Excellent video on what it really looks like when DIY'ing... Good luck with the rest of your suspension removal and installation. I wish that...
I used to run the Coopers on my 3/4 ton Silverado and they were excellent tires - low noise, long lasting and not too expensive. On my Jeep so far I think that the Milestar Patagonia's are the quietest tires that I have used on it. Milestar also makes an all terrain tire that is very quiet and...
If you want to carry ice cream in your fridge, why not set the temp lower than the freezing point? Mine can be set as low as 0 degrees. Set it to 25 degrees and you won't need an ice block taking up valuable space inside the fridge.
I like to put all of my items in to the fridge the day before I load it up for camping. At home on shore power I set it at 34 and then when I put it into the Jeep for camping, I usually run it up to 37 degrees. If I have the fridge set on Econo mod it will fluctuate 4 degrees (2 above/2 below)...
A couple of things to consider - don't blow through as many trails as possible just to say that you did them. Take your time and enjoy them. The other thing expect to see snow especially at the higher elevations. So be prepared for the worst.
That is a good looking trailer. Love the jerry can holders on both sides. I have never seen one with that kind of cover - looks more like a bed mattress with a cover on it
I noticed that you have a Jeep JKU. The ham antenna will not work as good if mounted next to the spare tire like the cb antenna does. Yes, it will work just not as good. I know this because I went from a 1.1 on the swr meter when mounted up on the a pillar light pod to a best of 1.6 mounted...
So what you are saying is in NC you couldn't get the AZ desert pinstripes applied and now you want to move here just for that purpose. :tearsofjoy: Check out Tucson before you commit to Phoenix. I lived there for 14 years and now live in Tucson for the past year and I wish that I would have...
Ken, you aren't too far away there are members in your area as well. I live in Tucson, maybe you can start a sub sub group of the Arizona area and have meet ups in your area.
If we can go to restaurants and riots (politically correct term - protests) then we should be able to go and hang out together. It isn't stopping people from getting together for camping trips so why are you letting this stop you from hanging out at your brewery? Is there ever going to be a meet...
Well, we just got back home from a 1768 mile trip to the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado. on the 146.460 frequency we heard very, very little chatter. so I would say that if your radio says that you monitor 146.460 all of the OB members will know that you are from here. My info even...
Propane is super cold and will do that when it is being used. It also does it when the fuel company is filling your tank up. Hint, you can also use the frost line on the side of the tank as a fuel gauge to see how much is inside the tank.
A couple of things that will help you out - the roll cage if factory and the hard top have already been figured in to the factory GVW so you don't have to add them again to your camping weight. Just trying to figure out why you carry both a refrigerator and an ice chest?
KJ7CRJ here - I recently installed my Yaesu FTM400XDR in the Jeep. Fixed all of the RFI interference from the LED lights that are mounted on the Jeep by switching out all of the wiring of the lights to shielded wire and then I did the same for the cable that runs from the Ham main unit to the...
I rarely ever monitor the 52 frequency since I am more into off roading. I prefer to monitor 46 frequency and I don't get much traffic on my radio either. I am now thinking of using dual watch so that I can monitor both of nationwide calling frequencies.
If you are using the Calling frequency it is a simplex frequency. So the range will be minimal compared to a frequency that is connected to a repeater.
