Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I think it will be just as at home in a rock garden at Harlan as it will be cruising the sand topless on OBX or topping a plateau out west and that's exactly what I want.
I've found a few used ones that are nicer than what I would order and I was thinking of checking them out. $2-3k to get the...
I'm interested in the Jeep kit because of the warranty as well as the fact that it comes with the new front drive shaft that's the proper length and control arms that correct the alignment, all approved by Jeep. I looked at a BDS kit and it came with adjustable arms but no drive shaft for a...
Oh, not even ready to start dealing and I've already upset a salesman by throwing a lower price in their face with more options. I got a the paragraph email about why I should pay them more for less Jeep. This is gonna be fun...
Oh, I considered getting a X or Sport and saving $10k initially and throwing a pair of locked Rock Jock 60s under it geared 5.13 for the difference and run 4" lift, the high clearance fenders and 40s. Thought that might be going a touch far for a DD.
I like Teraflex stuff pretty good. I had a set of their coils in the front of my old Cherokee and was always happy with how they performed. I'll look into the AEV stuff though, they seem to be quality pieces as well. I just want the best setup I can get and still be a reasonable DD.
This is what I've found. The non- rubicon models seem to all come with 3.21 gears unless ordered with the 3.73 gears. Automatics Rubicons come standard with 3.73s and you have to pay extra for the 4.10 but that's what I want.
I've seen the same issue with ordering new vs buying slightly used...
So I posted to this thread about what my dream setup would be and it got me thinking. My Mom passed away in September 2015, three weeks after her 60th birthday, after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung and brain cancer a month earlier. My Mom and Dad both had heart attacks in their 50s and both...

What year Jeep? Most 99+ Jeep 4.0ls are bad about cracking cylinder heads and if coolant leaked into the engine it could start wiping out bearings. We need more info to know how extensive things really are.
I considered this but being the only one in the family who drinks coffee, the french press takes less room and doubles as a mug. We had a guy in the local club who brought one of these on the last big trip I went on and it did great for the group of us who did drink coffee though.
Until recently, camp cooking for us was sharpening a few sticks and roasting some hot-dogs or sausages over the fire. I do still like that, add some mustard and enjoy! But, I also like good, hardy meals! When I found my Coleman stove, it came with a 8" Lodge cast-iron pan which I've been...
Oh so much stuff. I have lists for each vehicle, one for Amateur radio, one for off-road in general, one for camping and outdoor gear and then just a general list. A bunch of stuff I'll probably never buy but I would like to have. I really have too many hobbies...
I was off the throttle as I turned and the front tires were pushing and not spinning so it thought I was still in a slide. I had driven it around town that morning with the VDC off and decided to give it a chance to see and from now on, I'm going to turn it off before going out in the snow like...
I came from a Jeep that didn't even have ABS, so I'm having trouble adjusting to the full stability controls of my Xterra. The thing freaked out on me in the snow and wouldn't let me disable it till after it finished throwing it's little tantrum. I was not happy about that at all.
Traction...
