Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
That's the feedback that I was hoping for but because it is what I want to hear I will also continue to do some research! I'd love to put in 2 auto lockers and call it a day!
Thank you @Radiola correcting me that even with licensing use of the Baofeng fall under a different rule still technically making them illegal with out HAM license.
If you do what to use your $30 baofeng there are frequencies you an use without holding a ticket. MURS 151 – 154 MHz spectrum range https://www.fcc.gov/general/multi-use-radio-service-murs , FRS (1/2 watt) , GMRS no test 5 year license.
Personally I am very interested in getting my License...
Personally 3 years for standard Lead Acid batteries its time for replacement. Dual batteries I would assume you have a Diesel which requires huge draw for starting. Sure temp can have a big effect on amperage but I'd weigh on the safe side and replace them.
Not too much! Front winch bumper, some electronics, Roof rack, side ladder, lights, manifold gasket and good to go! Also considering welding in a rear subframe to haul motorcycle.
Yeah not worried about MPG (Diesel Land Cruiser RV) more concerned about trail duties, dust, dirt, weather, branches. Do like your input about holding gear! Been seeing many on CL between 75 - 200 not bad.
I am considering trying a roof top cargo carrier just not sure if they are up for the task. Does anyone have experience using one? Pluses, minuses, opinions? Seems you would still need to pack everything into separate bags.
Thanks
Generic picture not model I'd find on one CL
Excellent I like this thread because we all find stuff and its not always easy! Thanks for posting! Personally I was looking for a low cost shelter seems you found a good one.
Thanks!
I do like this thread something that I have been looking at for sometime without the 'solution' for me. For my use I am still considering the roof top cargo box but could imagine how those could be damaged easily. IDK going to keep watching see if someone else found the right box.
I don't have an xterra but like a lot of SUVs there is a good aftermarket supply of light brackets. This is the one that I found quickly

I'd like to suggest Original Gravity Public House, Downtown SJ for the next one, parking is pay but its cheap and directly behind OG.
