    Bear Country

I have seen many bears (Never had one come into camp) haven't had a problem when in remote areas as Chris has mentioned in National Parks and high traffic areas bears get bold, out in the forest very reluctant to come into camp and if so easily scared off, such as horn, lights, camp fire helps...

TRD-Pro/Off road Vs. Rubicon 4 door.

Yeah the 70 series is great as long as you are not tall! I know the crew cab has more space but the single cab is cramped for me at 5'11". Jeff, I really admire the time you put into your response. I also agree that my biases are mine and there is NO evidence that I am aware of to support my...

    Raptor ( liner)

I am also interested in using Raptor liner for my camper maybe the cab. I am under the impression the higher pressure you spray it on the flatter (less texture) it applies? Any thoughts on equipment for spraying, guns, pressure, I have a fairly good size air compressor so think Im good there.

Road Shower 2 Five-Gallon Pressurized Solar Shower Review

Steve thank you for the review! I have a water source already but might need to add one of these to supplement.

TRD-Pro/Off road Vs. Rubicon 4 door.

My perception (realize you weren't asking how many I've owned but figured I'd justify my answer). I also feel much of the same feelings about interior fit and finish have completed several 3,000 + trips in modern wranglers. 1943, 1946, 1980, 2001, .... pent stars where owned by friends I've...

TRD-Pro/Off road Vs. Rubicon 4 door.

Both failures that I witnessed 1st hand where the pentstar 3.6L Head failure for one, Rod failure for second... Is it better then the 3.8L without a doubt but when measuring against zero its easy to make an improvement.

    Tire Slime?

After doing some reading there are a lot of disadvantages to using "Slime" including corrosion of aluminum and chrome rims, ruin tire sensors (not an issue for me), adding weight, pooling and throwing tire off balance. Sucks when something conceptually seems logical but in reality is more of a...

    2013 Mercedes G300 CDI Professional

To import into the US without preforming safety test and bring up to US standards can cost 10s if not 100s thousands of dollars. So get around DOT (department of transportation) standards it needs to be 25 years old :-( then if that's not bad enough each state has its regulations often stricter...

    Tire Slime?

I always wondered if there was any advantages in using tire slime. Personally I have always carried plugs only needed to use them twice. Anyone have experience with using tire slime, good, bad or indifferent?

TRD-Pro/Off road Vs. Rubicon 4 door.

I don't think there is much of a comparison between these two just because I have such a negative perception of the Jeep's engine. I have seen just among my friends 2 low milage rebuilds < 100K . I also find the space in the Jeep to be quite limited.

    2013 Mercedes G300 CDI Professional

G300 was never imported now and then you find the gas version G320 if you do find a diesel G its 25 years or older :-( and very unlikely in CA

Tell me about aftermarket support for your rig?

Yes its quite a process that I will never do again while I live CA, other states I'd consider it but even without cost of the state its quite a lot more expensive then how the numbers 1st look.

    2013 Mercedes G300 CDI Professional

What a cool rig really wish they were imported to US! Do they still have cable lockers like the GD280s?

BLM land to camp and shoot

Its a bit of a drive but I'd suggest Tumey Hills about 3 hours south of you down HWY 5. I'd call the local office to make sure its open but this time of year shouldn't be an issue. There are a lot of areas that should suit your distances with good options for back stop against hills.

Tell me about aftermarket support for your rig?

Personally I started with a very well supported platform FZJ80 which has an amazing amount of support at a very high cost in comparison to Jeep, Tacoma, even somewhat limited Xterra can get bolt ons for a lot less. When that rig was totaled in an accident I went to a completely unsupported...

    Poker Flat Trail

Yes several times its a great camping spot and a fun drive through to La Porte with cemeteries, historic buildings and good camping. Unless you explore off the main road the trail can be done in a stock suv. It is also worth stopping at the look out even if the gate is locked its a short walk...
