I always wondered if there was any advantages in using tire slime. Personally I have always carried plugs only needed to use them twice.

Anyone have experience with using tire slime, good, bad or indifferent?

I have been told numerous times that once you use "tire slime" it destroys the tire. It is a simple repair but often it does not last long. Tire plugs are still the best option.

After doing some reading there are a lot of disadvantages to using "Slime" including corrosion of aluminum and chrome rims, ruin tire sensors (not an issue for me), adding weight, pooling and throwing tire off balance. Sucks when something conceptually seems logical but in reality is more of a gimmick or only functions for a very narrow case such as tubeless ATVs.

Friend is big tire dealer. Was ok with internal chemicals until a tech showed him a tire pressure sensor that had melted like tar from the slime! Phone calls to others found random similar issue. Chemicals banned!!!!
