Thanks for the info. Given I'll be using propane for cooking as well, it looks like I'll want a 20lb tank. I'm not sure the trees really meet my own needs, as I was hoping for something a bit smaller. Anyone know if I could roll my own out of black-pipe? It's heavy, but given I'm overlanding...

How do you plan for a trip to parts unknown? Maps are a great place to start, but what else do you use to determine what areas to explore, what's available, local rules and regulations, etc. Good advance planning makes for a positive experience, so how do you all do it?

And finally, off-camber scares me the most. I get nervous pretty quickly as the top starts to angle over...

With the abundance of propane appliances for camping (stove, buddy heater, lantern, grills, tembo tusk, bug zappers, etc), does anyone have any tips/tricks for distributing fuel around a campsite? Is there an easy way to hook everything up, or do you carry multiple bottles?

Usually just a pad a sleeping bag. I'd like to try a hammock, but it seems like you need a decent amount of gear to keep warm in the colder months (here in Michigan, that could be anytime between November and April/May). I'm planning a trip north in April and am thinking I will acquire a buddy...

Are you thinking the cover should be on when the RTT is mounted? Or only for other times? Could something like this be an option: https://www.softopper.com/? Drawers might be a good solution, assuming you get them to go the full length of your bed. Maybe something custom, where you could specify...

I agree with the general consensus around Land Rover... but I think some credit is due to the old VW microbus, as they helped usher in more of the life-on-the-road feel.
