That'll work if you have enough cargo space. I seriously considered one this year but couldn't get the storage size to work in my full size truck. I went to a 6 person backpacking tent that is 75" tall, 15#, and 11"x31" stored.

I use a ground tent, had one tent but recently (Still unpacked) bought another one, one of those "instant" up ones, 2 room so one to sleep and other for extreme coolers and gear. I got blow up Hi mattresses as my knees are shot from the military... Tents are fine, you learn to sleep anyplace in the military so this is the ritz!

I have slept twice on my fold-out sleeping platform. Even laying on our sides, the slight angle of the upper body has not been noticable. I liked the idea of being automatically protected from the weather and whatever else, and not having to deal with setting up tents.
So far we have only done it with a couple thick comforters as cushion, but I am toying with the idea of a thin full-size air mattress.
My wife has discussed a RTT, but it was more in passing.
While not particularly safe, on one long overnight trip we took turns sleeping on the platform in the back while the other drive, and that was basically heaven relative to sleeping in a reclined seat.

Why is there an incline? In my 3rd gen I unbolt the bottom seat and take them out 4 simple bolts. That way it lays flat and gives you extra room between the front and rear seat.

I just didnt want seat removal and storage to be a requirement. Obviously, it doesnt add more than a few mins--perhaps less if I leave a dedicated tool, or even modify the hardware. But, I am all about streamlining my vehicle for minimal steps between parking and sleeping (for the same reason I'll not likely ever get a RTT).

Well F4T XJ, you’ve ruined my life. I can’t seem to find your Quechua inflatable cot in the U.S. It looks like a great thing! I’ve found other Quechua products, so I’ll keep looking. Thanks, I think.I use a ground tent with an inflatable cot and a 4" self inflating mattress. When it's cold I have reindeer skins under my sleeping bag.
