Overland Expo 2016 Coverage

ok guys I can't make up my mind? Im off work starting this Friday the 13th for 5 days then requested for extra week off last min, not sure if its approved yet , but if work approves which probably will , I can't make up my mind wether to purchase the experience ,or weekend pass for Expo ? plus I really want to take my two oldest kids 8yrs and 5 yrs old, is any one else taking their kids ? I mean < i guess i want to spend more time with them and maybe pass buy the Grand Canyon on the way back home ? and have that bonding time on the drive there, idk any ideas on taking kids? and which package to purchase? I hear that most classes are taken up and not sure how much time I would have anyways to spend with them during the classes I do understand that there are kid events but since I've never attended I'm not sure on what to expect. Plus if i do decide for them to come with me, i would have to pull them from school for three days next week 17th-19 and maybe 2 more the week of return. 23rd24th . I think if do its a WHOLE other ball game and setup/

Is this something I should go alone ?
is overland expo really kid friendly ?
Its eating me up the deciding. plus i don't think they are to excited as i am.

In my opinion I think it is very kid friendly, and I recommend bringing your kids along. However, if I were you at this late date, I would just purchase the weekend pass. Since the classes are pretty full, and you'll be distracted by two kiddos (assuming there's not a second adult) I don't think you'll enjoy it as much if you were trying to coordinate your classes with their classes, child care, etc.. I would just go and enjoy the vendor demos, open forums, kids activities, and of course the Overland Bound crew. But that's just me! You might even stand at the back of some classes that interest you to get a feel for what they're like for next year (or expo east).

See you there either way!

I guess a few of us will roll in Thursday afternoon, do you guys plan to stake out some O.B. territory where we can slot in or are we on our own? It sounds a little strange, especially if you haven't been there, but either way is ok. Since we can't have a big/any fire, we'll have to come up with other things to gather 'round.

I will be staying locally with family in Sedona as well through the whole weekend. Didnt have enough time to get a camp. Also will be monitoring CB as I am on the road. Wouldn't mind convoying on the interstate. I think with my departure time I should be getting to Flagstaff area appx 0500 or so. If anyone else is inbound around my timetable and wants to pm for coordination. Or pm my instagram Meta6981

PS Sorry for being a newb, Not sure how ya'll generally coordinate these things.

I'm staying in Buttonwillow, CA Wed night, and will get to the lake Thursday afternoon ~4pm I hope. My rig will be parked the whole time so won't be able to monitor CB. If there's anyone with a 2m HAM out there I'll have my HT on me. I'm usually on 146.460.

This would be an EPIC time to bring those Quad rotors to videograph the event.

Just think, capturing Michael & Corrie shooting the breeze with Andrew St.Pierre White, Ronny Dahl, and other great Overland You Tube gurus on video. I for one, cant make the trip, but would absolutely would love watching videos of this.
This would be a great time to practice your quad rotor skills! :sunglasses:
