Oh man I love those Samurais. What engine did you end up going with?
The 1.6. 8v from a Tracker. It was a toss up between that a 1.9 TDI, but I had heard too many stories about the drive train not holding up to all the additional torque

Nice. That was kind of the one drawback of the old Samurai, the wimpy engine.

I have had the Black 69 sweptline ute since 1989. I almost converted it to a 4x4 many years back. The red power wagon i just got this past February and haven't even tried to start it yet.

67 Sweptline, 3/4 ton camper special, rebuilt original 383 ,power brakes ,power steering, a/c and almost all options for the that year I’ve had it almost twenty years 0D4CBEEC-1780-47BB-9DD4-640B65B5927C.jpeg5436DA8B-E095-413D-A747-146A054C4590.jpeg0A9663E7-F5D4-447C-BAB3-ED5ACB654C43.jpeg1FAF964B-4F1A-4502-B023-E087716DEC28.jpeg0447EC46-345D-4E50-8CFE-A192D0C58159.jpeg

My first job back in high school was at a gas station and "Bud" the owner had a '67 Dodge tow truck. That was in 1968 so it was basically new. I got to drive it several times which was pretty exciting for a 16 yr. old with a 2 month old licence. I've always like this style of Dodge truck.

That is a beautiful thing.

Conversion looks like it should have come that way.

Good job.

The GMC big V-6 starts at 305 ci.

V6 engines were produced in 305, 351, 401 and 478 cubic-inch (5.0, 5.8, 6.6, and 7.8 respectively liter) displacements, with considerable parts commonality. During the latter years of production, 379-and-432-cubic-inch (6.2 and 7.1 L) versions with enlarged crankshaft journals were manufactured as well.
I laugh when I hear people who think they have a large V-6 in some modern import.
