Nor Cal - Casual Meet Up?

Just checking in to see if anybody's on the fence wanting to come up to the ranch on Nov 12th/13th?

Not on the fence. As long as there's no fires to put out in my pools (see what I did there?) I have the day free and was planning on coming down!

May also bring a buddy from ClubFrontier, pending your approval. Has a lightly built Xterra. We are curious about the overnight camp. I assume, since you run your club out there, you have a campsite set up with safe fire ring, etc.? Level tent sites? Should I bring firewood? Hmm what else...

Yup, confirmed, my buddy (BCBrian) wants in, got stoked when I sent him the Google maps link to New Idrea, so can we plan a run to there Saturday or Sunday morning maybe? I may be working Saturday early early so my arrival time is in the air still. Sunday may be better. How long is a day trip to New Idrea?

Takes an hour to get to New Idrea from the ranch. We do have level camp spots and plenty of firewood. We have water and we can use a cabin for toilet as well.
I'm inviting a few friends from my club as well, so well have some rock crawling to watch on Saturday. Probably Sunday is best for New Idrea

Well crap. Buddy is sick, and I got fires to put out. One of our guys totalled our Silverado and another one got insanely sick (like delirious) and is in the hospital and we can't find the flatbed truck lol. Gonna be a long weekend.

@mitchandbuck I gotta take a raincheck. This was the original issue I mentioned earlier in the thread. Life takes over and forces one to re-schedule funtimes!

Sunday early AM? (Like, 7-8 AM?) Show me the way to New Idrea?

Saturday is a bust but we gotta do something man!

I'll be there. I'm actually taking a few days off so I'm staying at the ranch and getting some work done.
Great to see you Sunday AM. Or even show up in time for food Saturday night

Might happen, might happen. Let me see how my Saturday runs and I'll let you know! I'm definitely there Sunday AM for sure!

I had a blast.

We didn't do too much. I showed @ 7 AM sharp and folks were just rousing 'round the campfire. Introductions were made, the dogs figured out who's who, and Mitch served me a small but wholly satisfying breakfast. Then the plans were made. As Mitch's club buddies are focused on wheeling and crawling, we headed for the creek bed. I'm terrible at documenting wheeling trips, so not much in the way of pics. I did hand off my phone to Nate (who promptly handed it to Mitch's SO, Lynette) and they caught this clip of myself getting high-centered:

Actually what's more interesting than the action is the commentary :-)

Anyway, Mitch's property is gorgeous, 7k acres of prime central Cali farmland. Trails everywhere. Pristine views. I didn't see any but he said he has a couple of historical Native American sites on the property.

The.
Views.
Are.
Stunning.

There's lots of opportunity for rigs of all shapes and sizes. @BazzaJ your Audi would rip thru some of the forest road type trails, rally style :-)

I have a few ideas, I'll be calling @mitchandbuck later this week to bounce them off him. This should be, IMO, a quarterly weekend meetup. Not every month, as he shouldn't have to try and arrange a bunch of different schedules every month...

Anyway, I'll throw some ideas at him! Thanks again for having me Mitch!
