Long story short, I had a family vacation planned to Red River Gorge late October.. Things fell apart and now it's going to be my brother and I for a long weekend getaway.
I've always been interested in doing trails like the DBBB and it's the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl!

Even though my truck isn't stock, I want to stick with stock friendly trails. My truck isn't built for extreme stuff. It's a 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 6inch lift, coilovers and I'm on 35 A/Ts.
We have a cabin in Zoe, I'm not familiar with the area at all.

Can anyone give me suggestions on easier trails (dirt roads, creek crossings are cool, etc).

So far I have noted Fixer Road loops, Barker Branch Road and Bald Rock Road.

Also with apps like OnX or Gaia - is it pretty fool proof in selecting routes based on my requirements? Any recc on which is best?

Thanks guys! I'm excited to finally give this a try and hopefully make it a new hobby!

OnX off road has a system for grading trails built in that's fairly descriptive. If it's a popular area you're going to, good chance OnX will have the trails marked in terms of difficulty. Good place to start anyhow. Cheers!

Spas Creek is a good one for stock vehicle with good tires.

That area is one of my favorite areas to explore.
Callies Campground is a great place to stay, as there's not much dispersed camping in the area, and convenient to a lot of trails.

Your Ram should be capable of handling plenty of easier trails with that setup, but I’d check recent trail conditions before heading out, especially after rain. Fixer Road, Barker Branch Road, and Bald Rock Road are good starting points to research, but make sure the routes are open and suitable for your truck. OnX and Gaia are useful for planning, though neither is foolproof, so check trail reports and carry an offline map. Since it’s your first trip, stick to marked public roads, avoid unverified shortcuts, and don’t attempt creek crossings if you can’t judge the depth. Have fun out there!
