Labor Day trip to Poker Flats!

We can hit the road at 5:30 on Friday from discovery bay. Where are we camping the first night? Coordinates? Are we moving camp everyday? Haven't run this before

Will I need to pack lunches ready to go or will we be settled and cooking?

So basically what's the plan?

The plan so far is
Roll into Poker Flat Friday night. dinner there that night. Saturday spend some time poking around the area, around noon head out towards La Porte. Lots of old mining stuff to check out in the area. probably spend 3 hours or so making our way to the town of La Porte. From there we plan on heading down to the Clerhorn site. took about an hour an half to get there last time. Might take a bit longer negotiating the trail. Then Sunday head back out to La Porte around noon. Meet @707nick there and head out to a different site we haven't been to before.

So in short, moving sites everyday but everything is generally in the same area so no rush or sense of urgency. Were planning on stopping and cooking as much as we can. This is the wifes first trip so i picked an easy, relaxing trip that wont keep here cooped up in the truck for too long. I have some GPX files for each trail. Not sure how to upload them but IM me your email and ill get them over to you.

sweet, its pretty easy to find. Both my Garmin and Google Maps show the route. There are three different ways to get to poker. Were planning on taking Saddleback Rd in from the Downieville side.

Cool. That looks easy to find. About how far in is it? ill be driving it at night. Are were talking fire road or trail? sorry for all the questions
maybe an hour off the paved road. its 80% fire road and a quick down hill "trail" section right as you drop into Poker Flat. Every trail off saddlback rd ends at poker flat so you really cant go wrong.
