So... stupid me for being too lazy to check and put the hood on, it interferes with the top of the intercooler radiator. Had no choice and cut the top core off (On a table saw!!!!), and back to the TIG welding shop. Let's see how many times I'll end up going there. The last project is the snorkel and that will wait until I have the body to figure out the best fit. It will be a 3 or 3.5" stainless pipe and powder coated black.

Finally trying to place the heating system. A metal frame bolted to the frame will support the aluminum box of the heating system. I welded stubs with 8 mm nuts to the frame prior to painting.

Also got a front bumper from from 4x4labs. Luke is just an amazing guy. I’ll modify it a bit to add some integrated lighting.

That bumper looks great!!
It's almost a shame the body and cab will cover up all the good work you've done. You almost need a clear floor. lol

Been away so not much progress. Quarter panels and front pillars are still in Japan waiting for a boat...

Heater is in place and I got a bumper from 4x4labs that actually fit. At this point i am a bit stuck waiting for the body. December 31 is the dead line. I told them January 1, 2024 I'm there to burn the place down. That is, if it is not ready.

Some updates on the body shop. They have been putting hours on the body. Graft floor panels, and make some sheet metal parts. Over 20 body parts have been ordered from Japan. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have bought this rig. But, I'm at point of no return, and when done, I may have to sell the house But will have a place to live...

Ouch! That sucker had some rough sections!

If it were my rig, once it was all buttoned up and on the road, I'd be afraid to touch it with all the work that's going into it. :tearsofjoy:

It's going to be a stunner!

Hey I didn't see what you're using for fuel management? Turbo set up is going to be useful.
Zim
This uses a stock turbo, so boost will not exceed 13 PSI. I've upgraded the turbo on my 80 series Landcruiser which has a GTurbo and that is limited to 18 PSI. We put 90K miles in the last 5 years on long trips to Alaska, East Coast and Continental Divide and many more with not a single issue.

Some update. Body work. Front is done with some fabricated and done OEM panels. Work on the rear started. It is starting to look like a troopy.
