That's a great price! I just got my busted DX 18-200mm VR zoom back from Nikon service. It has a new VR mechanism, checked and cleaned zoom, cleaned glass, etc. for $215 including shipping both ways. That's similar to what I could buy a used 10 year old lens for on eBay, but I know it is in...

    Vehicle mounted gun safe

I just have a cheap, $18 cabled lockbox to meet legal requirements. http://amzn.to/1I94YUs It attaches to the seat mount, and slides under the passenger seat.

What compressor do you run in your rig?

Yea, I was obviously joking, as I was the one that mentioned, in the guidelines thread, that established members must never resort to using "do a search, noob!" :smilingimp:

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Rob, your photos are not showing up for me. Are they in a password protected gallery, or linked to a site where you must be a member to see the images? Steve

What compressor do you run in your rig?

Do a search, n00b! :smirk: What portable air are you using in your rig? Just yanking your chain.

Overland Bound Velcro Patches for sale

There were for a limited time during the summer.

How many OB stickers have you used?

Just one, mounted on my roof basket fairing. I'd hand them out, but I never see any vehicles around here remotely overlanding related (unless you count the two Jeeps that have a ton of polished chrome and shined up tires...)

    Overland California

Another very nice video, Steve! I enjoy the box of video, stills, and Ken Burns effect. It makes for a relaxing visit with you on your trip. Curious as to what you are using to build these? I'm on a Mac and have iMovie, but I've never fiddled with it. Thanks!

    Fuel Prices: The Overlander's Friend

@WJ_David All the Burgman 400s have a variator/centrifugal clutch belt drive. The 650 has a driveshaft/belt drive. There were many major changes between 2006 and 2007, all of which made the newer scoot a far, far better model. I rode shifter motorcycles for almost 40 years, but the scooter is a...

This looks like a potential purchase...

We used to do something like this with my old FIAT station wagon and a canvas tent. We'd put a tarp over the gap between the lifted tailgate and the awning on the tent. It left sort of a carport between the back of the car and the tent. The problem I see with the above SUV Tent, is that you...

    Fuel Prices: The Overlander's Friend

@WJ_David I've had the B400 up to 85 MPH GPS, and wasn't wide open yet. Some claim it hits 100, but that might be speedo, not GPS. All scooter speedos are wildly optimistic. So, it'll go that fast, but is more comfortable to ride slower. Small tires make it more agile than a motorcycle, but...

    Shadow of the Rockies

Looks awesome! I don't think that would be a good fit for the Outback, though. :astonished:

    What's in your Winter Kit?

This, in front of the fireplace. :)

    Fuel Prices: The Overlander's Friend

People don't seem to mind the cost of enjoying their hobbies/sports/etc. The cost of commuting? Sure, but an extra $50 for higher priced gas on a $3000 vacation, probably not. It does make me reconsider selling a couple of my scooters, as the market for them drops precipitously when gas prices...

To Chat or not to Chat

I've never found chat to work with my slow typing. By the time I'm ready to hit "send" the conversation has moved on, and my post irrelevant or out of the flow. I know a lot of folks like it, and on a car forum I'm on, there are people who use the chat but never participate on the forum. One...

    HAM/CB Radio Communication Forum Section

@administrator I think that's just one of many threads that were in the old Communications forum. Take a look at AA1PR's profile. He had 181 posts on the forum, but since the conversion, most of them are gone. Now it only shows 7 posts from him...

    HAM/CB Radio Communication Forum Section

@administrator I think @AA1PR (ExpeditionNorth) started/participated in several, if that helps. He does a bunch of HAM stuff.

    HAM/CB Radio Communication Forum Section

@administrator Yes, that's the subform, but none of the old threads are in there. We had a *lot* of threads about various radios, antenna, CB, powering, etc. Now there's just one thread.
