Overland Bound Velcro Patches for sale

I have one from the first set of numbered patches offered during the summer. So if you bulk ordered B/W and Y/G patches with #0202, it's going to be a while before I wear mine out. :grinning:

    FLASHLIGHTS

I have plenty of old Mini-Maglites, which I never use any more. As well as the 20+ year old 5-cell D Maglight in belt holster that makes a great baton, but lousy light. And I have a couple old SureFire non-LED lights from when they were the only real option in a tactical style light. But like...

What do you use for video

Wow, that is a really nice installation, @MarkW ! For mounting, I have an old VIO POV camera That I've used with RAM mounts on my scooter, car, and kayak. I've had it for probably ten years, long before anyone heard of GoPro. Now the HD ones are $300, but then, just the basic model was $700...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

@dubbinchris Chris, I think the intent is that the "TO your rig" thread is about what you have done to modify, improve, or just work on your rig. This one has been around longer. Another member started the "WITH your rig" thread as a general "where did you go today" sort of thread, with tales of...

What Type Of Battery Does Your Vehicle Have?

I replaced the seven year old OEM battery in my Outback just before our cross-country trip. I've had excellent life and cranking power with Interstate Battery's Mega-Tron line over the years, so that's what I bought again.

    Let's talk about the weather...

@Robert OB 33/48 That's incredible! Can you send one of those stones to me to add to my weather station? Would it be inaccurate due to the different magnetic variance her in Ohio compared to Holland? Is there a specific type of rope I would need? If so, please include that, too. Please bill my...

Black Gap Road - Big Bend National Park

Very cool place and the video makes it seem like we were there. I don't know why the accent surprised me, considering the TN to TX history. :) I'm glad there wasn't in-car entertainment when my kids were little. That would drive me nuts.

    Worst stuck

My worst time being stuck had absolutely nothing to do with overlanding. My girlfriend at the time lived on a state highway in west-central Ohio. Her family's house was quite a ways back from the highway, and had a looping gravel driveway to get there with some off-camber curves. One winter...

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Nah, just some online window shopping. I've mentally purchased dozens of vehicles since buying the Outback. :)

I don't know exactly where, but I had some ancestors that were from what is now West Virginia when it was still just Virginia. :) Most of them were from just across the river in SE Ohio, though.

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

@MTN4RNR Thank you for the clarification. I did confuse my model names. I was on Toyotas web page and saw that there were Trail and Trail Premium models. I misremembered the Premium as Limited when I wrote my question. (Must be the Subaru slipping out, as my Outback XT Limited is a "premium"...

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Is the "Trail Edition" different than the Trail or Trail Limited models? I know that the FJ had a limited edition model each year, and didn't know if the 4Runner did as well. I've seen reference to both Trail Edition and Trail models, which is why I'm wondering. If so, what's the difference...

    Let's talk about the weather...

Thanks guys. If you are interested, my weather website is Avon-Weather @roamingtimber and @stringtwelve There is a wide range of handheld weather instruments from a few dollars to several hundred. Some just show temperature or wind, and some do everything imaginable. The top-of-the-line Kestrel...
