That's my take as well. I come from a drag racing background and feel there is a time and a place for loud exhaust systems and IMO the average trail isn't one of them and definitely not in campgrounds. Loud exhaust is more than just annoying it can actually be disruptive to natural systems as...
If you have room for them, Home Depot sells 3" memory foam pads (24"x72") for $25/ea. They work quite well but take up a lot of room because they don't roll up tight. This could be a stop-gap measure until you figure out what you really want to do long term...
After all my recent off-road adventures my brake squeak is back. I removed the rear driver side brake pads and greased them up with a thicker grease than I've used previously. This stuff is supposed to be good from -50F to 6,000F so it better hold up! LOL
I have a feeling the rear driver side...
I realize this is an old revived thread but since no one has answered the question above I wanted to contribute to the knowledgebase.
The commonly accepted temperature at which "all-season" tires begin to harden and traction levels drop drastically is 45F/7C. However, traction levels actually...
It all depends on what you plan on doing inside the bed really. If you plan on making a bed platform and sleeping inside the cap then I wouldn't store fuel inside. Otherwise it's more theft-proof inside and may be easier to access.
Rotopax can easily be mounted against the back bed wall and there are metal Jerry can holders that can be bolted down to the bed.

Thank you America's Tire / Discount Tire. When I had the brand new DV8 877 wheels installed on my truck, the mounting arm protector broke and scratched all 4 wheels before the tech realized it. The scratches are not terrible but they are there. The salesman was up front about it and didn't try...

They had a typo on breakover angle. GM specs for the 4wd crew cab short bed is 19.8

My apologies. The TFL Truck test I was referring to was between the Tacoma and the Ranger. But in the Edmunds video didn't they give the Tacoma a higher articulation score?
I picked up an ARB Snatch Strap and a generic 8' Tree Saver strap to add to my recovery kit. The ARB strap offers 20% stretch. That would have been very nice to have last weekend.... I'll be purchasing a Hi-Lift jack and ORK as well. Future plans include a Smittybilt winch and Midwest stealth...
Unfortunately GAIA doesn't work through Android Auto, yet. I carry my Samsung Tab 2 for GAIA on longer trips and just use my cell phone dueing shorter trips.
The Tacoma has better articulation than the Colorado. They tested this on TFL Truck too. Their test was pretty instructive. What a terrible showing for the Ranger huh? I had high hopes for it not knowing they didn't update anything except the engine and trans.
Check out my latest trip report. I'm pretty impressed with this truck despite the situation we got ourselves into.

Received the new DV8 887 wheels (17x9 +20mm offset) and had them installed. Unfortunately they reinstalled the 7mm spacers I had on the front so I can't say yet if the wheels will eliminate rubbing by themselves. With the spacers installed I have no rubbing even at full lock so I'm happy so far...
