Yep, I worked in engineering at Ridge Tool for 30 years as a new product designer. I started on tubing tools, then moved to threading machines and related equipment. I got a 425 when I retired. :)
Nice thread, and a great vehicle. I could have done almost everything I wanted with my 2008 Outback, but the turbo and manual tranny left me with very little torque for steep rocky roads. Plus an automatic/CVT would allow for Deb to drive. I came "this" close to getting a 3.6R last summer, but...

BTW, I can see the photos on your Facebook group and your blog just fine. And you're not the only person on this forum that has Google images not showing. So maybe it has something to do with ZenForo and Google together.
True bicycle touring (as opposed to credit card touring) is the epitome of vehicle-based exploring! I've got a touring bike ('93 Bridgestone RB-T) but have only been on half a dozen or so overnight trips on it. I bought it specifically for the low gearing to pull a kid trailer.
