    Backcountry Discovery Routes

Have some plans to run a bit of the NEBDR west out of NH this summer. I'd like to make it to PA and check out some of What DevilDodge is mapping!

    Backcountry Discovery Routes

I've run it out of Waterville into Maine. Very nice run starting in Sandwich Notch (dirt) and going tarred/dirt all the way to Rt16. Evan's Notch is one of my Fav's in NH!

    Errol to Pittsburg, NH

This is the second half of the run during foliage season, First part is the stop at Little Garfield Falls. many know of the main Garfield Falls, yet this on is a bit further backcountry and less visited. Color was glorious for the entire run out of Errol.

    Foliage in Northern New Hampshire

We try most years to get north for the backcountry colors. It goes very quick and tough to time it. Now being retired, timing is working with us and we caught the colors! Also found a 'new to us' route on dirt Errol to Pittsburg, NH I met a group out of New York that was backcountry traveling...

    3rd Maine Coastal Campsite

This one became our favorite! Imenities were far less than the other two, sites much rougher and overall very rustic. Bath house did have running water but only cold and a bit o a woods walk (short cut) to it. Picnic area was tables placed out along the cliffs/rocks with just enough room to...

Second campground on Coastal Maine we checked out

We traveled up and stayed at Lamoine State Park as the second stop on our way up the coastline. We're trying to hit those spots just off the real busy areas. This one hits the mark! Fewer water view sites (5 or 6) and the rest up the hill from there, yet they have a abundance of field space to...

A bit of the MABDR yet more Byways out of Virginia and into West Virginia

We left Virginia and entered West Virginia. The Temperature & humidity was on the rise and forecasted to stay that way (or climb) all week. We needed out of this and get to where suits us better. That took getting into PA! We will go back, but it will be later in the season! There's just so...

Virginia Scenic Byway and Parts of the MABDR

This is our second day working north in Virginia using the MABDR as our guide. We spent probably as much time on as we did off the MABDR for several reasons, yet mainly because we just missed a turn... happens.. seems to us more than not, lol

    Northward through Virginia

This section was still using the MABDR as our guide. I did pass a couple sections due to the unknowns and the 'click' I picked up in the steering. It wasn't worsening yet still there if we bumped along a trail.. Again, we ran this solo so caution ruled. [tube]

    Parts of the MABDR

Continuing north through the Mid-Atlantic! We jumped on and off the MABDR depending on what we saw of road/trail condition. I picked up a 'click' in the steering which turned out to be the steering shaft (easy replacement) so I was being extra cautious. We found what I call a small Canyon on...

    Parts of the MABDR

Established, as in NF's... Yes. There is dispersed if you look a bit. I love the National Forest CG's, clean , quiet and sometimes flush toilets! I do go for ones a little more off the beaten path though. Safe Travels!

    NYE anyone?

Well, Grand Isle State Park has been taken over by Local & Federal services to give the locals housing and supplies. All reservations have been canceled up till late April '22. Back to searching again... May have to wait till after NYE to begin the journey.. bummer..

    NYE anyone?

We're heading out of the Nor'east (USA) to do a unique NYE to start the new year adventure off with some style. We're headed into the bayou of Louisiana and staying at Grand Isle State Park. They plan to be open again well before.. We'll be there a few nights prior and a couple days after and...

I do find glitches in Gaia, yet not really that many to move me away. I typically can route around from what data I have and just visual. I think this happens to all us with any software. I have posted to Gaia where I found weirdness and I see they added some of this info. The other way is to...

Covering 343 miles, 5 state forests and 4 Purple Lizard maps...mostly dirt

Nice work and if I understand it's a route 'in progress' of exploring. I will ask, because I'm interested, is to the rating of trails. We travel mostly solo on Byways (love dirt) and have taken caution towards extremes, being we're traveling.. Please do rate these, as best you can for those like...

    Parts of the MABDR

As we turned the corner and headed back north, homeward, we used the MABDR as the route guide. I knew there would be sections I would pass on, as we are traveling solo, yet so much of it was very doable. This is only the 1st portion I've posted and it starts about 4 minted in. I found the most...

Well, I'm also one of those that you need to actually have it 'up & running' better than for me to switch and offer it at much better pricing. The features you speak of exist elsewhere, others I have elsewhere some I see as not doing much good 'cell based' in the field. Brings me back to...

You're telling OB1 has 'all' the layers Gaia has now? It just won't track?
