Should be good on either side! I like tramside to summit & auto-road side for the 'Bowl'. My knees are past hiking there any longer so do post a pic or two!
My cousin just brought his kids up to ski Tuck's last week and had one of those few awesome days up there!
Enjoy!
Time of year? If after mud season and gates are open, then a few spots around. Closest Auto-Road side and laid back (rustic) is Barnes Field . It's a group camp with water & pit toilet. Dolly Copp has gone commercial (paved). Last time up there (2021) they said I couldn't stay because I hadn't...
What part of NY you coming out of? I'd be hard pressed not to follow the BDR through MA/VT and enter NH from the west. Follow that to the top of the state Rhubarb Pond and work the Hamster south till you need the highway to beat feet home. A lot of really good territory! The BDR goes through...
NEBDR runs into some nice sections of Maine and if you have the time, following as it returns to NH looks pretty cool. I've only run portions of this in Maine. I would thought use the Hamster exiting Northern NH as it travels the section between Pittsburg & Errol I really like !
The number one trail I recommend is the Hamster! A bit on pavement on this route, yet at least byways! I especially like the run Errol to Pittsburg! South of Errol (north out of the Jericho area) I vary from the Hampster and I haven't run that portion as of yet and if you do, please let me know...
Ya, really not that much on iOverlander. Loaded in around Moose River Plains, but not so much else where... I use several different apps to spot out what might be good. ADK is pretty locked down unless you hike or paddle.
I have two unique spots I've found and willing to trade for a few more!
I get everyone feels being off-grid is cool. Yet reality is, most everywhere is getting covered. It's not a bad thing really! I had spot where we hoped to reach out and report to Emergency Services. Even my radios didn't contact.
Most times I find we can connect. There are times I shut all...
We used to run Kerosene in a heater years back in the house, yet I seem to remember the orfice had to be changed.. Can anyone confirm this change of fuel?
That seems weird.. If you roll up and a site is available, then it goes un-rented. I found a couple NF's that went internet reserve but both you could rent whenever you arrived. Their problem was no cell service at the CG.. worst was they blocked the bay-at-post.
Any clue why they stop it at...
I've done sections in NH (section 6) and only started into Maine (section 7). I'll recommend either Osceola Vista or Barnes Field as group camping. Both are White Mountain NF campgrounds. If I'm around when you come through NH, I may join you folks and explore into section 7 with ya's!
You've done much of the cosmetic work, nw it's time together under and beef the frame points. Several FR forums out there on Mods done to the frame/axle. Cracked frames at suspension mounts, outside walls sagging to mention a couple of the biggies. Mods are out there and I suggest researching...
Hmm... Let me work on this and see what I could do. You have interest in changing camping sites during your visit? I have a couple in mind on a drive that might work.
Said from a dude wearing what in his head??? Just busting' ya, since you busted me...
I work with Siri learning and she does great, short of the few I don't catch...
Anywho, (see Siri learned), where the OP is headed is close to some cool places in New Hampshire, or The Shire as I like to call...
Jesse... guys.. spec checker... that's a tough one..
See!!! spell, as I typed it came ut as spec... even worst when you dictate it and they spec it wrong... arg... I give up...
I don't despise (had to check) hiking in as long as it short. I like to travel with the 'belly boat' and that's easy...
I've heard of Moose River Plains and researched a bit. Seems like a lot of woods despised camping and hike in ponds. I need to dig deeper into it. I'm researching for a good camp spot near a stream/brook to do some fishing. I saw several great spots to fish while up there, yet tough finding a...
