    Toilet Time

The one demand my Wife made when we started in on this overland adventure travel, was the inclusion of a proper throne for herself.

    Firestik mounted

I took advantage of the extra day off yesterday and mounted the Firestik antenna that I had bought for myself as a little birthday gift last month. I bought the door jamb mount, and had to "coax" an extra angle into it, to fit between the body and the light housing. I also dremelled (is that a...

    Solar Power?

I have 2 75 watt solar panels that I use on our travel trailer. I keep them as a mobile unit, and generally will take 1 along with the Xterra when overlanding. I have solar controller mounted permanently in the travel trailer, and another mounted in the Xterra. I really only use the solar panel...

    Tire Suggestions

285 75R16's BFG KO2's on my Xterra. So far I am really impressed. We completed a 6000km road trip this past summer with some great off-roading thrown in for good measure and they handled everything fine. Great on-road manners and not very loud at all.

They truck you to the top and you walk down 660 steps to the mine. It is hard to explain how awesome it is when...

    Old mines, ghost towns, etc......

I seem to have this unhealthy obsession for searching out old mines, abandoned buildings, old rail beds, and stuff like that. Much to my Wife's dismay I can smell a 100 year old tailing pile from a mile away, and am drawn to grown over rail beds like a bee to honey. Lucky for me, I live in an...

    Coalmont Trip

I brought a lump of coal home when we were out that way years ago poking around. The history of Granite City, the Blakeburn area, and the mine disaster is very interesting. Will have to get back up there at some point.

Overland Bound WA Trip - August 2016

Great pictures, lotsa Xterra love going on that weekend. I rarely see another kitted out X around these parts, and to have 3 X cousins on the same weekend run was pretty cool.

Overland Bound WA Trip - August 2016

"manbearpig".....yeh, thanks for that. The Wife and I cannot stop talking about the manbearpig now.....great. I think we saw one on the way home Sunday. Either that or a stump.
